Title: Serra vs. St. Pierre

Did anyone else watch Matt Serra vs. Georges St. Pierre last week? It's a shame when two great, bald by choice warriors, are forced to face one another on the field of honer. I was kind of hoping the fight would be a little less one-sided. Still, it's good to see a humble guy like St. Pierre with the title; he brings a touch of class to the sport.

I heard from a friend of mine that St.Pierre had beaten Matt Serra but she didn't see the fight either. How did he do it? Submission or KO?
She also told me that Franklin beat Travis Lutter via arm bar? Could that be true? I can see Franklin winning the stand up but I would have figured Lutter to have a vastly superior ground game.

I didnt know they fought either. Will have to google this.

I also hear there is talk about a Chuck Liddell/Kimbo Slice MMA UFC sanctioned fight.

I think Liddell would be absolutely nutz to take a fight with Kimbo. Chuck fights at 205 and Kimbo looks to go about 250. Plus, he can take a punch and he hits like a bulldozer. Neither one of them has shown a tendency to fight well on the ground although Chuck was an NCAA wrestler.

Kimbo is an animal no doubt about it. He has little or no ground attack. I think he is a bit overrated and hasnt had any real competition in any of his Pro MMA fights.

Sorry, didn't mean to start a thread and disapear for months, got busy. Yeah, St. Pierre destroyed Serra and got the title back. It was not much of a fight, as I recall, two rounds? The ref called the fight; it looked like St. Pierre was trying to break Serra in half. Serra was done anyway. I really like both fighters; I hope Serra comes back in a big way.

Chuck would be ignorant to fight Kimbo. Chuck has not been looking too good his last few fights. Kimbo would run through him I am afraid.
