Title: LUNCH break at work...
Post by: warhawk on April 23, 2008, 10:15:45 AM
hello fellow chrome domes:  i'm getting ready 2 go out and take my dad out 4 some lunch & enjoy my day off.  just wondering... how many minutes do U get 4 lunch at work.  me?  they only give us 30 minutes which is just enough time 2 "scarf" off or inhale your food and back at work, again.  (in other words not much time). >:( >:(

so... how 'bout U?  R U in the same boat as me w/ only a 30 minute lunch break?  or R U the lucky one that gets atleast one hour 4 lunch?  what's your story?

My lunch break is all day!  LOl..i wish.
I never know when I am going to go for lunch.  What is good about my job is I can go when I want.  If I want to take 30 minutes I take 30..if I want to take 1.5 I take 1.5 hours....just depends on how busy it is.

Sort of like Tim. Occasionally I'll take an hour or so but most days I actually eat while I'm working...... or looking at SBG O0

I have a home office so I can basically take as long as I need.  I just got back to my office from mowing the lawn  ;)

Of course I'm not working just yet, but when I was I only got 30 minutes too.  Like you said, had to eat like an animal.  Maybe even worse than most animals some days.   :-\

I work pretty much on my own.  But most days I just take a short lunch.  Other days I take my time.  Just gotta get the work done.

I usually take an hour but most of it is spent at my desk anyway.

I always am eating while I am working ('cept the mornin' when I am drinking coffee).

Usually just grab a sandwich or something

Get 45 minutes, but invariably it is a working lunch

I get 1 hour and believe me I use up every single second of that 1 hour.

Talking to people all day in a call centre and trying to explain to them how a fairly complicated VoIP service works to someone who doesnt have a computer can fray your nerves.

I am suppose to get an hour, but since I live close to work I come home everyday and usually take about 1.15hrs. I am 24/7 on call, so my time varies.
Nice to sit on the sofa sometimes in complete silence and eat... peaceful!

I'm with you Mel, 30 minutes for me and I have to wolf down my food too.
Then it's right back to work. I also get two 15 minute breaks (usually) if it's not too crazy.
Some days you only end up with one.

Most days I'm trying to wolf something down while finishing paperwork, calling clients and checking out SBG. We are entitled to a lunch, but I have found that it interrupts my flow. I'm salary anyway, they don't care how many hours I put in.
