Title: Stop eating before you are full.
Post by: shakf on April 22, 2008, 02:15:17 PM
Guys it's been a while. Anyway let me start this topic. How many of you guys can stop eating before you are full? What I mean is stop eating till satisfied but no longer hungry. I've just started doing this for the past two weeks. It took me a long time to adjust and get used to. But I found that I was getting less tired by doing this and also started losing a few pounds. I'm aiming to lose around 2 stones which is roughly 28 pounds. So far I have lost 3 pounds. So still have a fair while to go.

I can do this pretty easily at times but sometimes the dish is so good I just want to chew it and spit it out to taste it... but I never spit it out.

Maybe I should eat more bad food...

lol

This is very good practice.  Sometimes you just eat so much that your stomach actually hurts when you are done eating....why do we tend to over indulge ourselves??

There is a signal under your rib cage which tells you when you are full. I think it's the solar plexus.

Nice to see your bald mug again bro!

great advice and a good way to keep the bod in check...also really pay attention to portions..

they are SMALLER than we think!

My vice that keeps the belly doughy....coffee with milk...

love it..but not gaining weight either, no fat but just not "cut"...

 ....by any means! ;)

Oh, and a burp is a great one...try to stop right after one...that helps!

I try to do this when I pack a lunch.  We have very small containers that hold about 1 cup/8 ounces of food.  I try to take two of those to work and split my lunches up.  I found that it's an easy way to help control my portions.

My wife usually eats half the portion that I do, so I have started to eat the same amount as her. It's our greed and the contents we view with our eyes more than anything really. Our eyes are not satiated even though our belly may have become full a long time ago!

Great point shakf.  I have been trying to put this in play for the past few weeks.  I always would eat until my stomach felt stuffed.  And then maybe more.   :-\ ;D

Hey bro.  I'm the same.  Pizza is a big vice of mine.  Can't get enough.  I hit up CiCi's, not sure if everybody knows what that is, at least twice a month.  I come out of there struggling just to walk.  ;D

Oh yeah.  For sure not bad at all.  I mean, as far as quality goes it could be better but what you get for that little bit of money is great.    O0

My favorite is the BBQ pizza.  Mmmmmm.  `dr**l

Try to eat 5 to 6 small meals a day instead of 3 large meals.  It will help keep you feeling full and keep your hypoglycemic levels more constant. Whenever you eat, try to have 1 protein to 1 carb.  The protein will keep you feeling satisfied longer and will slow down the digestion of the carb.  If you're feeling hungry all the time, you may be overdoing it on the carbs.

The biggest problem I have is when I am plating my food I am usually hungry so I pile on more than I should.

Then when I actually feel full I have food on my plate, good food... then I hear my father somewhere deep in the catacombs of my brain saying "Clean your plate there are starving children that would love to have that".

I feel so wasteful throwing food out it tends to get me and I finish it.

I have been working on keeping my initial portions to a minimum but although I am better, I still overeat.
