I dig that blue hat trucker, very nice.
In the winter I alternate between 2 toques, the black uniform issued one for work and the black one off duty.

Any other southerners on the forum grow up calling toques/beanies toboggan caps?

That's all I ever called this type of cap until I moved out of the south.

did some hat experimentation...I prefer not to wear any hat but lets be realistic...the sun is a killer.
So if I do wear a hat I like to wear a fitted baseball hat backwards.
The baseball hats I used to wear forwards now make me look like a cancer patient. :/
Backwards looks good to me though.... O:O
^^ Me too.
Looking forward to wearing beanies/skull caps this winter and not worrying about messing up my hair :D

I never thought of that bro. I use to wear ball caps all the freakin time. But now when I wear one it looks odd. So maybe I will try the "turn it backwards". Dont know why I never thought of that before.
When I'm working I like skull caps, they keep the sweat out of my eyes and don't interfere with my glasses or hearing protection.

I've started bringing a knit beanie w/ me when I travel because the hotel rooms many times have a/c that is hard to adjust right and I get cold in bed--the beanie works great sort of like a security blanket.
Just went to LL Bean and purchased a Mad Bomber hat for this winter....have wore it a couple times already on mornngs when it was in the 20's outside.....man is it warm... O0

I like LL Bean but afraid it would make me look like Floyd R. Turbo.

If out in sun for long a cap yes, winter is very cold here so I wear a toque (knit cap). I like hats and collect many. I also wear sunscreen if not in a hat (swimming at the lake).
I hate hats. I'm currently looking for something to clip on my pool lounge chair to keep the sun off my head... sometimes sunscreen alone doesn't do it... but a hat isn't the solution I'm after - it takes away from my bald coolness.
I used to wear caps alot. Now I wear them if it's chilly out or it's summer and I'm going to be outdoors. It's interesting that I have never put sunblock of any grade on my head!! I guess I'm just blessed with a head that never burns!

I still wouldn't risk it. You don't want have this in your head - http://www.slybaldguys.com/serendipity/archives/195-This-is-what-skin-cancer-looks-like.html
ALRIGHT MOM AND DAD!! I'll try doing it your way this summer, "just to be safe." I guess I just don't worry about cancer. I believe if it's going to happen it'll happen.
I also have no genetics to worry about. Welllll I have to admit that my mother and father and both of my wifes parents died of cancer!! Duh!!
So I will be a good boy and try wearing some protection next time I'm out! Now I have another product to search for!!

Being fairly new to the scene, I see no purpose in covering a shaved head. Why get a complete head shave if your going to cover it up. Be a man and take it like a man.
I can't stand these guys who cover their head with a baseball cap. Wuss move.
Ball caps are for baseball!.

If I'm out in the sun for long, gotta have one. Otherwise, I am sick of wearing hats to cover up my former 'problem'. No more hats!!!!YES, you've got the right attitude. Neutrogena puts out a 70spf spray--it leaves an incredible shine, so sun glasses for your friends are a must.
I have found that since going sly, I can longer stand the feel of a hat on my head - it just feels weird now.Same here--I wasn't a big hat fan anyway, but now I can feel the stitching and the ridges, and it isn't pleasant. I have a huge head anyway, and even 7 7/8 hats are tight and generally pretty uncomfortable and leave a line around my head. I wore a hat or my Under Armor skull cap for about five days at the gym after the doctor froze my precancerous lesions off, partly bc of the look and also because people could think I had sores that could contaminate the equipment. I do wear the beanie if I'm on a site visit where they hand you a safety helmet--I don't know whose head was in it last and the helmets can have some pretty funky looking webbing inside :P. The beanie keeps me from having that touch my scalp directly.
When I see a guy with shaved sides and wearing a cap, for the most part I politely express my displeasure with someone shaving his head and then covering it up. Why shave your head if your going to cover it up?
It just felt weird.Yeah, it really does. I had to wear something for the first 5-6 days after the Great Freeze Off, but I'm not comfortable wearing even a baseball cap or beanie--just like it free and easy. But, lots of SPF 50-70 soaked in then buffed off-- feels great now that spring seems to be here.
Every thing is cool, I hope, w/ your renewed sly status--the wife is adapting as you are now comfortable I hope.

Hey Now :: We don`t all live in one of your cushy southern states ...
We have too wear hats ( like it or not ) depending on the weather--and i dont mind hats during the colder seasons.........
:px
What brand sunscreen do you use that is in the 50-70 range? I'll probably need something at about that level.Banana Boat 50spf
...I wanna start wearing trilby hats, but I'm not confident enough to pull it off.
Sweet hat, sirharry! You should put up a picture of your collection, unless you already have somewhere else...Thanks, Natedawg! Here's some of them (a few are washing and drying as I speak)...
As for me, in the summer I don't wear hats much, unless of course I'm going to be outdoors for an extended period of time. However, in these Chicago winters, I wear beanies/knit hats every day. I've never really liked wearing ball caps, for some strange reason... :/O

I recently purchased a HB Skully (http://www.headblade.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=HB&Product_Code=6000&Category_Code=hats) (https://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.headblade.com%2FMerchant2%2Fgraphics%2F00000001%2Fwhite_skully.jpg&hash=c81b6d8d5a6565c8a472717f12498990e2bd1cb6) and wear it nearly every night as the temps are dropping quickly overnight here in Northern California.
But I thank you Bob for the link because I think I will need a thicker one as winter creeps upon us. O0
Since moving to Wisconsin, I find that I can't go outside without a toque in the winter time.

If I lived in Wisconsin I'd have to have several tokes before going out >:D
Wait, I think you're talking about something else. :*))
I've always hated headgear, but I will cover up when I'm going to be out in the sun for extended periods of time and in the winter to keep my bald head from getting frostbit.
