What's up my Sly Bros? I was just thinking about a blog I had written a while back on my profile for myspace and it got me wondering about other opinions on kids. To those out there that have kids already are you thinking of having more, and if not why? To those who don't have kids are you planning to, and if not why?
As for my wife and I we are done with our 1 son we had back in 2006. I think it comes down to the experience you have with your first. For us, our son has just went through way too much in his first two years for us to even think of having anymore. It's not a matter of us being lazy and not wanting to "work." It's the emotional strain it has put on us. We just don't want to have to go through that again, or even worse. Not that it could happen again but who knows? The birth was rough, the first week was rough, and months after the same. He has been to doctor appointment after doctor appointment for different things over and over again. It seems like every time he goes back they find something else wrong with him to make us worry ourselves to death and stress. The last time everything came back ok with him from that ct scan the last thing the doctor said was, "Is there anything else I can do to help you." I said, "Yeah. Next time we come in there please don't find nothing wrong with him." ;D Funny thing about that. Just took him to the doctor for follow up with all the last stuff and now she's recommending him to the ENT for precaution because of fluid that won't go away in his ears. So it looks like he may be getting the old tubes. Yet another surgery for the little guy where he has to be put under. Not a major one mind you, but still the same another one.

we have two boys and that is all. i had a vasectomy a couple months after my baby was born. and the wife had the plumbing removed in november. mostly just the cost of children. it is overwhelming how much they cost.
my parents only had me cause i was born with spina-bifida. they were scared that it could happen again and not be as lucky as i was. my case was very mild, but nonetheless, it was a spinal defect that cripples or kills most people that are born with it.
my seven year old had tubes put in in november along with removing adnoids and tonsils. very routine but surgery is stressfull when your little ones have to be put under. i feel your fear bro. you and yours are in my prayers.

I am single at the moment I have been for a really long time, too :(. I decided that if I am around 35-38 and still single, I will adopt at least one kid, depending on whether or not I can afford one (who knows where I will be). Hopefully, I will get married and have a biological child, but that's too far ahead for me. Either way, I definitely want at least one kid, hopefully more.

I have 2 boys. My wife would have loved to have a girl, but our track record wasn't to good and 3 boys might have pushed us over the edge. 2 is a good number.

Have more kids!! I don't think so. :o
I have four terrors. Don't let their sweet angel faces fool you. They are more than just a handful. It's hard finding a babysitter for this brood. They're holy terrors, I tell ya. Timmmay don't forget your promise. You said your daughter Annie could babysit and get them into shape.

I hear ya, Rick. We have one of each and having a third kid.........well...........you need to switch from a man-to-man defense to a zone. Too complicated.

You have a beautiful family bro. How can those children be bad? >:D

Nope not for me.

Zach is our one and only. We had a terrible time getting pregnant (17 years). Never gave up. There was nothing heroic or artificial, just a gift from God.
I’ll tell you, having a 10 year old son at 53 is sometimes challenging. I wish he had a sibling, but I was an only child and there are some advantages to that.

Schro, I've heard that from a comedian -- 'switch from a man-to-man defense to a zone.' He also said that you're really not parenting until you're outnumbered. Parenting is tough no matter what, but having 3 or more is definitely a juggling act, but you tend to not let as much bother you in that case. Middle child syndrome is interesting too.
