Hey guys, I just wanted to introduce myself a little bit. 

I've been lurking here for a couple of months, and tonight I think I'm going to take the leap and shave it all off. 

I started noticing my hairline receding when I was about 17, and now, at 23 it's pretty far along.  I'm planning on shaving it all off tonight, reading all of the forums here has been very helpful, and has convinced me that this is something that I at least want to try. 

I'll check back in once I do it.

Great to hear bro...

It's a shame when a dude worries and wastes some of the best years of his life worrying about his thinning hair....

shave it off and start the beginning of your new life !

If you think a bald head looks cool...you'll love it once you do it...and if you're kinda iffy on it...give it time smooth and you will love it after a while for sure!

take pics...that may be the last time you see yourself with hair brutha! ;)

Alright, I just finished shaving my head for the first time. 

Damn.  I didn't know it would feel so cool :-) or look so white :-/ 

I'm gonna go pour a drink and figure out how to post before and after pics.

Congratulations, Tom. That was a quick decision. The "numb" skull feeling is pretty strange at first. Unfortunately, it doesn't last too many days. Have a drink and toast your new-found slick slyness!

It wasn't too hard of a decision today, I had pretty much made up my mind over the past couple of months.  I had a beard that was been around all winter, and when I shaved it yesterday I got the urge to go all the way. 

More about me:  I just graduated Virginia Tech in December and moved up to northern VA for work.  I'm originally from Boston, and am a huge Red Sox fan.  I can't wait for the season to start next week.

I can't get the pics up, can anyone help me with that? I made them small.

Welcome to SBG's Tom, good to have you with us.
 
The smooth dome looks great, and it is a good feeling isn't it?. With time the whiteness will go away as your scalp gets some sun. But do it gradually, make sure to use sunscreen whenever you plan on being outdoors for some time.
That tingling feeling when you first shave is great too, but again, that soon goes as your your scalp gets used to the blade.

You made an excellent decision, I think you will be much more at ease now.
You've found your freedom, aka "slydom".

Welcome to the Sly Fraternity, Tom!  Glad to have you.  I was pretty young (22) when I finally decided to take the road to Slydom, and it's been great ever since.  Great decision.  Again....welcome.
