As I posted earlier, my rescue group's "Wheatens On Parade" contest is underway.  I'm posting this request on behalf of Emmie, who was rescued from a puppy mill last year.  She was a very sick puppy who almost didn't make it, but we nursed her back to health and found her a great new home in Texas.   If you have a free moment, please cast a vote for Emmie by sending an email to wheaten68-parade@yahoo.com.   It doesn't cost anything.  This is my personal email address and I promise your addresses won't be given or sold to anyone else, nor will they be kept on file.

Are Wheatans larger dogs? How similar are they?

Wheatens are generally about 30 to 40 pounds, and about 17 to 18 inches at the withers so they're a good bit larger than Westies.  Emmie is undersized due to the health problems she had when she was a puppy.  Wheatens tend to be more even-tempered than Westies.

Just wanted to let you know that Emmie came in a strong second in the contest, and as the top vote-getter of the opposite sex to the winner, has earned the title of Consort to the Grand Marshal.  Thanks to all of you who voted for her.
