Come on...Tell me there are a couple of you guys on here! I'd love to play a couple games on the PSN network with any of you. I'm a big fan of shoot em up games and racing games, so the only games I own on the PS3 are Resistance: Fall of Man, Motorstorm, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Right now, I'm obsessed with Call of Duty....I mean, I have rarely seen a military game so fucking well put together. Not to mention, it visually blows me away every time I load it up.
Even if you don't use your PS3 for games and only to watch Blu-Ray movies SPEAK UP! I want yalls PSN names...Mine is 'P3aceIsWar'.
-
Hey brother! I play call of duty 4 too! i'm DM2007
-
I'm thinking about getting one soon... just need to get an LCD TV to play it on, because I don't want any burn in on my plasma!

schro, KC, one day, those boys of yours will need a real machine.....One day they'll need a system with a supercomputer grade processor within it and epically realistic graphics.....One day you'll need a system capable of pumping out high-def Blu-Ray (or DVD if that's how you roll) content at 1080P with Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound and a massive hard drive for storing hours and hours of user inputted video. One day, you'll need a Playstation 3. The Wii's time is almost......up.
-
We also have a PS2.

LOL, no not really. The PS3 was my first gaming system from Sony. Before that, I had a Nintendo 64. And now only use my PS3 and laptop to game....But the PS3's power sure has intrigued me....Like how the Air Force bought 300 of them yesterday for 'research'.....

I am tossing up between getting PS3 or Xbox360. I have had my PS2 for nearly 8 years and it still plays like a dream. I love the Sony controller. But I borrowed a 360 from a friend at work for a few weeks and played Gears of War and Halo3 and that sold me on it. I am saving my green and going to decide which one to get soon.

I've looked at them both and the PS3 is much better in most respects... 1080P, Blu-Ray built in, more durable, etc. Friends that have both can't get enough of the PS3 (except for the lack of a lot of games right now)

I've seen the graphics of some of the other systems and they're pretty impressive. But I don't see us investing any $ in a new system anytime soon.
As fun as the Wii is, our kids' favorite activities are sports (soccer, softball for Nicole, baseball for Alex, tae kwon do, hoops, & golf). In fact, Alex is trying out for the regional select soccer team this week (tryouts are over two weekends). Although he's only 7 1/2, the youngest division is u9. Most of the coaches that have played against him have told The Lovely Mrs. Schro & I that he needs to be playing against tougher competition. I'll keep everyone posted.
It was a "feel good" moment when we discussed select tryouts with Nicole. Although she has the skills to tryout, she is not. There's a much greater time commitment with select level. She is also involved in theater and music. We explained to her that there's only a finite number of hours in the day (and $$ in daddy's wallet). She understood that and made the choice to not tryout. Plus she said, "If I make select team, that means you won't be my coach. I'd rather stay with The Dream Team (our team name) and have you as my coach." That made my day. :@`

Schro, You certainly are the epitome of a proud parent. I know the sun rises on sets on your kids and The Lovely Mrs. Schro.

Tyler whatever you do, steer clear of JVC. We have had our HD LCD TV for a little over 2 years and the quality has degraded considerably already.

Tyler, you should check out the samsung tvs. great prices, and they have great reviews

I'm thinking Samsung for one of them.

I'm hoping to get a PS3 and the Planet Earth series on BR for my birthday in a couple of weeks.
I've got a Sony 60" 1080p Widescreen Rear Projection that absolutely kills.

I have really been on the fence with this as I have a PS2 that I have played to death. I want a new system but here is my dilemma...
1 - Xbox 360 has more games right now.
2 - PS3 has alot of "plans" but I have been burned on that line before... yeah, remember Colecovision?
3 - A Wii is WAY more social and good times without having to have the dexterity of one of those Mortal Combat champs that used to hang out at 7-11 so my wife and less geeky friends can play too.
4 - My gaming time on the HD LCD will not be a ton as that TV is where movies are watched and such.
On the other hand -
1- Madden in 1080p
2 - SOCOM
3 - 1080P gaming, a bag of chips and Heineken for hours
4 - Blu-Ray (movies are another hobby of mine)
Why must I be faces with such difficult decisions... I feel like Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi

You could always buy more than one...

I was at Best Buy on Saturday and researching this same topic. The kid I spoke with said Wii is better for entertainment gaming for more than one person. He said if you're buying a system for yourself to buy a PS3.
I'm new to the whole thing, and really confused. It would be the first system I've owned since an old school Nintendo. I think the deciding factor will be availability. I can walk into any store and buy an XBox or PS3, where Wii's are never in stock.
-
so i'm really considering getting the 80 gb bundle with metal gear. buuuuuut i don't have an LCD. I have an old zeneth. Is it still worth it?
-
Hey bulls fan...good to see you have returned. havent seen you in for a while. I know nothing about video games and stuff of the sort. Dont get into them.
-
hahha that's one hell of a profile pic
yeah i've just been super busy lately
-
Thanks goes out to BEN32 for that profile pic

I have a Wii (reason for that was Zelda - nothing I love more since I am 11 *g*) and I also have a XBOX360. No PS3 yet ... waiting that the price drops a bit. It is still quite expensive! Until then I have to stick with my other console fun!
-
Timmay: thats your best ever pic.

okay so i went ahead and got one. A buddy i work with said he would sell me one of his hdtv's for practically nothing. Jackpot!
