I seen it said that exfoliating can help prevent and even treat razor bumps. What I'm not sue is which does a better job, the loofa or the stuff in the bottle such as St Ives Apricot Scrub or Headshed. I was wondering if you use the loofa do you end up having old skin cells building up on it even after rinsing it.

Sorry, can't answer this one for ya, ryebread. I get very good results with the St. Ives Apricot scrub so I have never tried anything else.

I've used both the st. ives and the headshed and both work great. With the loofas they will get a build up you just need to replace them every so often.

Cant answer that either....I dont use all that stuff....

The St Ives works good and is cheap. Headshed works good too. I have used anti-bacterial soap on a body poof before and I imagine it does the same thing.

I use Headshed once or twice a week prior to my shave and it works well for me.
Remember that you don't have to scrub too hard, just let the product do the work.
You may be irritating your skin by overdoing it. Just a thought.

Never had any "build up" in the loofa pad, not the sponge. My first has lasted over five months and is beginning to show wear, so I'll probably cough up another $3 for a new one at Wal-Mart. Cheap, feels great, I don't like the little gritty stuff in the exfoliating soaps and lotions. It gets stuck on my bath soap too. The loofa pad works for me, but each to his own.

I'm another HeadShed user but a Loofa oughta work just as well I'd think. ;)

i have one of those scrunchy things like my wife uses. works really well and only costs about a buck. btw timmy mine is black, not red and white or some girly pink.

I've used the St. Ives scrub. It didn't help and actually irritated my scalp with daily use. I find that I don't need it and so I don't use it.
