Hello, everyone,
This is my first post; I only started shaving my head about a month and a half ago, so I apologize if this question is often repeated. I've been using baby oil for my shaving routine. I've tried a few different creams, especially the ones with aloe, etc., but I always end up getting cut. The problem with baby oil (I actually learned about this from this site), at least for me, is that it clogs my Quattro (also got this blade because of this site)
very quickly, and I can't seem to get all of the stuff removed. It makes my routine more time intensive than it would be with shaving gels. Is there anything that protects as well as baby oil but might not clog my razor so severely?
Thanks in advance,
Phantom

Welcome here, Phantom!
I use some drops of Massage-oil on my wet head after shower and apply then HeadSlick. It works for me good, I have no problem with clogging. I use the HeadBlade with double-blades.
Read more in the threats about shaving routine here and you will find good advices.
Enjoy this great forum!

Headslick seems to work well for me. It doesnt make as much of a mess as baby oil would. Also becareful with using baby oil in the shower...could result in a fall that will mark up yoru noggin and you wont be able to shave for a while. Just go buy some Headslick and let it be done.....

Welcome aboard Phantom! I'm also a HeadSlick user. Works great for me. There was a thread a week or so back about a product called Shave Secret that is sold at Wal-mart. The guys on this site that used it gave it pretty good reviews.

What better person to ask about shave oil than the "Slickster" himself.
Cromwell & Cruthers shaving oil. It's expensive for the money, but it is a super product. Caswell-Massey is also another brand that I can highly recommend. I know other gents here like KOS (King of Shaves Alpha Oil
and Pacific Shave Oil).
Which ever you chose, just be extra cautious when using the stuff in the shower. TimmJ speaks from experience. Be very careful.
And welcome Phantom to the SBG's.

Ditto for me with Headslick. I haven't found anything that works better for me; You only need a little of the product, so it lasts for a good long time.

It would have been different if I was using the baby oil on my noggin LOL....

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the help; I was starting to fear I would have to empty Walgreens of every shaving product on its shelves. I think maybe I will try the head slick and the shave secret with Cromwell and Cruthers and see which works best.
Oh, I'll watch myself in the shower. Thanks again 8)

Phantom, welcome to Sly Bald Guys! There is one shaving oil that does NOT clog your razor, though it's a bit more expensive than most. It's called Pacific Shaving Oil. You can get it at Whole Foods or online at http://pacificshavingoil.com/
I also am a big fan of HeadSlick and Bald Guyz Shaving Gel. Those are the two slickest creams and gels that I have found.
What type of razor are you using?

Hi Tyler,
Thanks for the welcome and the advice. I'm using a quattro. I started out using a disposable, which was pretty painful, but at the time, it didn't occur to me to look for sites like this on the web.
