Title: My Dad - Staff Sergeant Grady Isbell, jr U.S. Marine
Post by: RustyRuss on February 20, 2008, 04:28:56 AM
Guys,  I know I haven't been around for a while but, I wanted to let ya'll know that my Dad past away on Feb. 18th.  All three of my brothers and I were with him along the side of my mom when his spirit moved to a better place.  I want to thank you guys for your well wishes in the past, your thoughts and prayers.  It was his time to go.  At 87, he accomplished all he could and believe you me that was a lot.  Six years in the Marines, served in the Phillipines, Hawaii, and various areas throughout the Pacific.  Married to my Mom for 60 years as of 01/31/08.  My brothers, and I, are very blessed to have had wonderful parents, and we are resolved to carry his spirit forward and live, love, laugh and be the best we can be.  I wish the good fortune of having loving parents to every child, and hope that I can be half the Dad that he was.

I challenge each of you to be the best parent you can be and love your children for which this world will be blessed.

Bless you all,

Rusty Russ

Russ-

My condolences on the passing of your Dad. He lived to a nice old age and it sounds like it was a GOOD long life.
I hope your Mom finds comfort in knowing that she had him for so long and that when she is called Home he will be there again.

Peace to you and your Family in your grief

Rusty
Deepest regards and best wishes for you and family.  I suspect the Marines provided your family a superb assistance officer and military burial(if desired).  Your dad is a Great American and he's on the "High Ground" now as we say in the military.

My humble thanks to your dad, my dad, and dads everywhere who sacrificed their youth and often their lives in WW I and WW II for our freedom.
