Title: The Outdoors Sly Guy
Post by: Paul on February 06, 2008, 08:48:05 AM
Alright, I spent an entire day this past weekend at that Nirvana for men....Cabela's.     Besides being like a kid in a candy store with all that hunting and fishing stuff in one contained area, I was amazed at large number of sly guys who were also drooling over all that outdoor gear.  It got the old wheels turning and wondering:  Why so many sly guys here?  Is it that to be sly you already have an adventurous spirit and are willing to be different?  Are sly guys drawn more to those types of activities?  What do the rest of you think?

Maybe it's the outdoorsy guys who are attracted to the "no muss, no fuss" sly lifestyle. I'm betting on a combination of all the above.

In HH we have an oustanding Outdoor shop; it's my favourite store ("Kindergarten for men!!!  O0 "), it's everytime worth a visit.

I also love being in the nature - bird watching, walking, biking...

Open mind - open sky - no hair between.

We camp quite a bit during the warmer months - and gotta say the smooth look is easy to maintain.

Cabelas.... *drool*

It is the over abundant amount of testosterone...

Guys that would rather shave their head at home than spend 30 bucks on a haircut and style.

Guys that find hair a hassle, and not a defining aspect of their personality

Guys that would rather spend 10 minutes in the shower and 30 mins cleaning a gun than those that will spend 40 mins with a hair dryer and "product".

makes perfect sense to me.

Paul, which Cabela's was this?

There is one just across the Michigan/Ohio line, Monroe I think, that is the biggest in the country.

They have stuffed elephants and bears in there and even an artificial lake.

This is a brand new Cabelas, JDog.  It has those same features of all the stuffed big game and a huge aquarium filled with native fish.  It's in Hoffman Estates which is a suburb northwest of Chicago.

I am assuming Cabela's is an outdoor store.  We have a Bass Pro Shops in Macon.  The only thing we get from places like that are camping stuff.  Oh yeah, there is a Galyans up in North Atlanta.

We have both a Cabelas and a  Bass Pro w/i less than 10 miles of where I live.  I grew up in Springfield, Mo, the home of the orginal Bass Pro.  Those are both some awesome stores.
