Hello all.
I always had fine hair and at age 18 started to go MPB. I spent many years with a horseshoe hairdo...so I always wore a hat :P
Never had the guts to go sly (stupid wasn't I). 39 now btw.
I thought it would be difficult to shave my own head....didn't have a clue how to ( and too clueless to do a google search for instructions). :-\
Last friday....for no pre-planned reason I did a search as to how to shave a head. Saw that it was so easy. I thought stuff it, lets give it a go. (the day before I was outside in the sun too long and got sunburned on the top of my head and my neck...so once i shaved it all off it looked so weird...the next day I put sunblock on the red parts and went out in the sun awhile to even it up)
My first reaction to my new - hairdo was "OMG! I look so weird...I won't be able to go out in public for weeks" :/O
When my son got home from school he said "that looks ok...makes you look younger"
When my ex came over she said "it suits you" and she rubbed my head :XX
Over the weekend I would look in the mirror ever so often and it started to grow on me ( the look, not the hair...well...a little hair so i shaved again)
Today I went to my mums house to see her reaction.
She said "looks good...makes you look younger"
My stepdad was fine with it....not sure if he even noticed it.
After that I went to the local shopping centre hair-n-hat free....only 1 person looked at me twice...maybe he liked the look O0
So now my confidence has increased...I am embracing my Slyness O0
I should have done it years ago. (my mum said she thought I should have done it long ago...but she didn't say anything...wanted me to come to the decision on my own (guess she didn't want to feel guilty if I hated it))
I found this site over the weekend looking for others who have taken the plunge. You guys made me laugh .... I could identify with you all...found good advice...and the courage to get the parents opinion.
So...thankyou guys.

Well Thanks ROB! I appreciate the comments on how nice my head looks with no hair. Ya see though...all these other guys....they were all fence sitters until I come along and I showed them how nice it is to be slybald. Im just glad everyone finds my pic so attractive that they just have to sign on in here. LOL...
But really, welcome to the site...glad you found us and that you are now shaving the noggin. Maybe you should post up a pic of you BEFORE the shave....even though that maybe be a nightmare to some of us. Alot of us just wish that the past would go away....but it haunts us from time to time LOL

Welcome Rob. I am also one who asked the unanswerable question of "why not sooner?".
Amazing how a little bit of hair dissappearing can make such a huge impact in your life.
Keep it Sly! 8)

saw 4 sly guys around town today. never really noticed any before I went sly.
Its good to not be the only one in my local area. :)
I wore a cap today as my head is pealing a bit. caps fit perfect on my head now, it sits low enough so that a wind can't blow it off easy, left no hat mark either, as I didn't have to have it tight. But I did sweat alot under it. It fealt so good to get in the car and have all the windows down, take the hat off. ahh the breeze felt so good. #**p

Welcome Rob!!! Sounds like you are hooked. Glad you found us.

Enjoy it, and keep it smooth! O0
