Title: Am I the only one?
Post by: Beef on February 01, 2008, 10:04:47 PM
Who is very obsessive about shaving the head perfectly? I find that I am very obsessive about getting everything smooth on my head, if i find any rough places that i may have missed or not gone over properly i have to go and fix it(if im able) Anyone else like that?

I think 99.9% of us are like that.  We strive for perfection, and nothing is more perfect than a smooth, sly dome.  I know I am.  I'll spend an extra 10 minutes in the bathroom if it's not perfectly slick.

Absolutely...I never shave less than an hour before going anywhere, including work, because I can't stand finding a rough patch and not being able to do anything about it!

By the way..welcome to the forums!

Beef, we are all like that.  I have a razor in the cabinet at work that once I get to work its almost like I always find a spot or...certain areas want to grow faster than the others...so Im always touching up.   YOU ARE HOME BRO!  EMBRACE IT!
LOL

Timmayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Same here. In my routine my last step is bald guyz moisture gel. If I find a rough patch I will use my mach 3 while the moisture gel is still wet and will touch it up, then re-apply the moisture gel.

I'm definitely like that.......PLUS! if you don't shave it even all around, it grows at different lengths and can look funny, so there is a point to be extra "anal" about getting every single hair

I think the urge to stay perfectly smooth just comes with SLYness you gain after shaving it all off.

I think we're ALL like that!  O0
Funny timing for this post, Beef. Even though I was going to shave my face after my run yesterday, I wasn't planning on shaving the dome yesterday (for no particular reason).  :/O However, I thought this was a good time to try shaving my head with my Schick Extreme3 razor to see if I could get as close of a shave as my HeadBlade Classic. Well, it wasn't even close!  :Xo! In fact, it felt like one of those life size mazes made of bushes. It felt friggin' awful.  @c3 When I got out of the shower, I got out the HeadBlade and cleaned myself up the right way.

There you have it....I went from "I'll pass on shaving today" to "semi-slick" to "Super Sly" in a matter of minutes.  8)

Beef:
You're not alone. When you start keeping a spare or backup razor and a travel-size can of shave gel in the glove compartment, your office desk and/or your gym bag, yeah, you're (we're) obsessed. But you're also keeping up the commitment to slick smooth shine. Nothing wrong with the touch-ups! Welcome to SBG.

Heck no, you're NOT alone.  And even though I slept in and was planning to skip shaving today......Gosh dangit....I just felt the overwhelming urge to run to the bathroom and slick up the ol' dome!!  Laters, gents!

I usally get up very early to go to work.  I shave in the shower the night before so when daylight rolls around I already have a shadow.  Wish I could shave before work and later in then morning.  We all are like that

Beef there aint nothing wrong with the endless pursuit of a slick dome.

I'm like that too.  In some places I have to shave in 3 different directions  to get everything perfectly smooth.

It's funny/ironic that I have/had a double crown.  The thinest spot on my head is the crown.  But I have to shave that area in all directionsto get all the hair.

I sometimes freak out when I get to work and about an hour or two later find a spot that I missed.  I will high tail it to the bathroom and pull out my work razor and get that spot before it starts to look wicked...like Medusa..or something..lol

Beef, you're definitely not the only one as you can see. We all strive for that perfect sleek smoothness.   :@`

I have been on and off letting it grow for one day and I find some days I just can't do it. It's like something just happens and you just gotta have the super smooth and sly dome. I know most of my bro's here feel the same, so join the bunch, we're all after that slick shave.

i guess for alot of us our domes are our pride n joy so we'll strive for perfection, people can say what they want about us about our everyday lives but we have our perfect domes at the end of the day....they cant take that away ha, (sticks and stones may hurt my bones, but but my perfect dome will ace me)  :)

I like a smooth shave;  and sometimes I can overshave a spot and create a problem because I go over it enough.  I will think it is good to go and then slather on some headlube and find another spot.  It's a bit of an obsession I suppose.  My fav shave is after I havn't shaved for a few days .. that is a slick shave!

Exactly!, That's what I have been doing on and off lately Shane. I find the feeling of super smoothness after those few days is awesome. It's almost like getting your first shave again, but minus the tingling. There really is something about how close you can get it and it's amazingly smooth!   O0

You are not the only one by far.  I have been shaving for most of the last 10 years and still don't want to leave the house unless it is perfectly slick and shiney.

Sometimes I shave twice a day, once in the morning and then again in the early evening.

If I miss a piece and feel it like sandpaper later I just have to go an shave it if I'm able to.  I feel like everyone will see a patch of stubble on the back of my head, but really I know I'm the only one who knows it's there.  Guess you COULD call it an obsession. 8)

You bet I want no rough spots, although perfection has caused a few nicks... :(

I keep a spare Mach 3 at my office in case I find any rough patches. So count me among the obsessed.

I also have to say that I can go without shaving my face on a daily basis.  In fact, that is how I ended up growing my goatee and mustache back into a full beard.  But I can't stand growing my hair out.  I have to shave it every day.  The only exception is if I am down with the flu.  I also skipped for  almost a week several years ago after having surgery.  So Beef, you now know that you are not a weirdo.  It is quite normal.  Having a smooth bald dome is very addicting!
