Hi! I live in the UK! How are you all?
I am thinking about shaving my head but of course I am a little apprehensive about it. I turned 30 last year and spent all of my twenties as a slave to gradually thinning locks. I am now sick of it and want to do something about it but I am scared of the unknown.
I really notice the thinning during Karate as I get quite hot and the sweat kind of makes hair look thin. I am about 5'9 145lbs and am told I have a nice body cos Karate, skateboarding, rollerblading, mountain biking and snowboarding (my sporty pass times) seem to have created decent abs. Also my striving for a nice body in my twenties I think was a way of compensating for balding hair. I am also a non smoker and do not consume alchohol. It must be genes not diet that make your hair fall out!!!
I am going Snowboarding in March the the Arctic Circle in Scandinavia and thought that might be an idea to shave then as I do not like the feeling of hair under the wooly hat and when the hat comes off you can really see the thinning as your head gets hot and your hair messes up ruining the careful brushing attempts to conseal the balding shame.
How easy is it to shave with the Head Blade? And how do you get a before and after digital picture of yourself if you are considering shaving??
Greetz from the UK dudes!

welcome bro

as a reference to a pic of the before adn after....well first of all you need a camera......take one before and one after LOL....just ribbing ya bro....yes you should get a before and after. YOu can post them both in here under the same header. Im not the best one to ask how to post them because I for one...usually just mess around with it until i get it right.....but I do know if you download them into photobucket it makes it a whole lot simplier.
Welcome to the site and as far as giving you suggestions on what to do wiht your hair....well this is the wrong place to ask...because everyone is going to say SHAVE IT OFF! but you do what you feel comfortable with. And as a reminder...you dont have to be bald to be here......just hang with us for a while ...until you get comfortable and we will talk you thru the whole thing. Good Luck....have fun on those adventure trips you are going to be taking.

Welcome to Sly Bald Guys! Shaving with the HeadBlade can be tricky at first, but the key thing to remember is not to put too much pressure on the blade and let the blades sharpness do the work for you.
As for the before and after pic, I'll have to hunt down the site for you. I can't remember it off the top of my head (no pun intended...ok, maybe a little).

Hello, welcome to this forum!
If you are still on the fence and thinking what to do: enjoy reading the good advices in the threats you can find here.
You can shave at once or you can use the step by step way by cutting shorter and shorter with a clipper and then come to shaving. Give you a try.
If you think it looks not good: it's hair, it will regrow.
You can change your look on a digital pic with Adobe photoshop and virtually imagine how it will look.
Maybe we will see you sly?

Stormdragon, welcome to SBG! I'll be turning 30 this year too and I'm glad I decided to take hold of my hair problems by shaving it all off last May! I personally don't like the HB so my suggestion to you would be to use a MachIII or Fusion at least at first. Good luck and keep us posted!

Hey, welcome bro

Welcome,
Just do it... its unknown, I understand but you will feel great once it is done.

Welcome StormD.
From your brief description I can tell that your are adventurous person, so let me put it to you this way.
You can take it down slowly as some suggest, or just embrace the fear as you know how to and go for it. The rush you will get from it will be amongst some of the most memorable you have experienced. Its really hard to describe, but I know anyone on this forum will agree with me on it.
I much prefer to have a slick head with a wooly hat than a velcro feeling! 8)
I started with the headblade and use my mach 3 around the ears. After the 3rd shave I pretty much had it down to a science, but whatever razor you decide to go with I would strongly suggest using the headslick to shave with and be sure to try the bald guyz head moisturizer.
Good luck to you in this and your other adventures O0

Cheers! You guys Rock!
Now I only have to decide what head shaver to use. The Headblade, The Mach 3 etc etc.

HEADBLADE! HEADBLADE! HEADBLADE!
(Sorry, I'm just a big fan of the Headblade...........)

I've always used Mach3, but just recently I tried the Fusion, and must admit It just has the edge. Never tried Headblade, so can't comment on it.
-
Just go for it and shave the dome slick smooth bald. A truly liberating feeling!
-
Something new? Did you buy a Headblade a jump over the fence?
Show a pic, if you want.
