Title: Newly Sly in South Korea!

Hey all,

My name is Shane.  I'm 30 years old and I'm originally from Dallas, Texas.  I'm a graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce.  I worked for the State of Texas prison system in maximum security prisons for over 6 years as an officer and left as a Lieutenant.  I decided I wanted to lay down my 37 mm gas gun and give something else a try.  I've been living and teaching in Incheon, South Korea for a year now.  I'll be headed back to Texas soon, where I'll give teaching in public schools a try.  I started shaving my head about 2 years ago.  In my opinion, the combover is an abominable haircut.  So I let go and I'm glad I did. O:O

Welcome to the site Big Shane.
I am just guessing that teaching where you are doesn't have the disipline problems like here. I would be curious to hear how it is in a different culture, what age group do you teach?

Welcome Shane, I think you are our first Korean based sly guy.  Glad you are here.  When you get back stateside you may want to consider teaching in the area of Special Education.  You background would be a natural for working with the kids I do every day, kids with behavioral/discipline disorders.  Want any info feel free to PM me.

Shane, welcome to SBG!  Interesting life you're leading there bro.  Living in S Korea I bet you have some great stories to share.  I'd be interested in hearing how they perceive Americans.  Looking forward to your input.  Teaching is the greatest profession one can enter in my mind so I salute you for that man!

Well, the Koreans like us for the most part.  The Brits and New Zealanders don't have a lot of good things to say about us.  They view us as a money hungry, arrogant, Earth destroying, uneducated, war-mongering people.  With the war going on right now, America is not perceived very well.  I'm doing my best, to make them think otherwise though. B@n%
