Are any of you familiar enough with Napster and/or MP3 maintenance to help me here.
I ripped 4 CD's for my MP3 player....2 on one day...and 2 on another. The songs from 2 of the CDs play much lower volume and it seems lower quality.
I suspect that in choosing the settings I may have selected a lower quality bit rate or somethin'.
In Napster, next to the songs there's a little icon that is a different color next to the songs I ripped on a different day.
Is there a way that I can simply "equalize" all the tunes within Napster so that they all play at the same volume/quality...or do I have to re-rip them being careful to choose the same settings for all the CDs
thanks in advance

Duhhh....
2 of the CDs were ripped as a WMA file and the other 2 as MP3 files.
It's the WMAs that are not as loud....
NEW QUESTION:
HOW DO I CONVERT THE WMAs TO MP3s? RE-RIP?
-
Yep... delete them and re-rip as an MP3. That way you get the same quality as your other MP3s...

Thanks, Rob!
I went online and found a WMA converter...didn't want to shell out the $40.00 so I chose the FREE TRIAL.
It converted them .........but truncated them to 30 seconds each...LOL
I'll just re-rip

Sometimes best solution is the easiest one...

SUCCESS !
My Napster didn't have the "MP3" plug-in to rip from OLDER CDs

windows media player and winamp both do good ripping jobs too!

Rob...you may want to check out MP3 gain http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/ it is a fantastic program I use to equalize all my MP3 volume levels. Nothing bothers me as much as listening to music and one track coming on louder than another.
Addendum...look into Soulseek http://www.slsknet.org/ i use it for nearly all my downloading needs.
Good Luck!
