Ok you are all prolly thinking ....sh*t ...Timmj think?? Thats a miracle....but anyways, I have often noticed people when they mention my name in a post or what ever....or send me a PM..they always spell my name like it is on my screen name. Well I could save you all a step and tell you to omit the last M. Im not complaining or anything but I just wonder if you all think I spell my name Timm or Tim. Well its Tim. Dont change anything...cause its starting to be my signature name ya know...I was just wondering...cause of all the weird ways people spell names anymore....like i said..I was just curious.

OK, it's Ti"m" NOT Ti"mm" :Xo!
You got it Tim. That's cool with me! O0
What about some of the other guys here? Is it Paul or Paulie?, Rob or The Meister?, JDog or Jesse. What about SlyinKC, is he Scott? And where did the name GaaSlick come from? This is getting confusing now! :-\
We could use this thread to explain the derivation of our screen names.
Frostilicus in "Florida"!, you can go first. There must be some story to go along with that screen name!!
-
Paul and Rob I dont know about....JDog is Jesse, Sly is not Scott...its Rick...and GASlick..is Georgia Slick....
LOL...
It would be interesting to hear where these screen names came from and WHY...so here we go....
WHERE DID YOUR SCREENNAME COME FROM AND WHY?
Mine was just something different. My real full name is Joseph Timothy. Back in school people use to call me Timmy Joe....just for fun. Well when I was signing up on a few things I messed up and I couldnt use the timmyj or timj...so i resorted to Timmj...theres my story..so whats yours?

I'm a White Water Rafter.
Nothing starts the heart a pumpin' like a "ride" down the mighty Chattooga and the Chattahoochee Rivers.
My actual name is James Robert. Had the unfortunate nickname of Jim Bob
in grade school. >:( In high school I was known as "JR".
In college I started White Water Rafting, so behold the new and improved moniker, Rafter!
Here are some pics of myself and my "River Rat Gang" kayaking along the Broad River. Had to protect the bald noggin from the dangerous river rays with a cap.

TIMMAY!

YOU KILLLED KENNY!

TIMMAY!
This is exactly what I think every time I see Tim's name. Only because it brings back good memories of when I was in college and we had a friend named Tim and anytime he came around we would yell "Timmay!"
-
JDog is a nickname that I acquired from a good friend of mine who likened my appearance to an inmate on a prison documentary who went by the name J Dog. All my workmates call me JDog now too

That's some sweet Austrailian sunlight gleaming off your noodle J Dog!!! O0 My "business" nickname obviously just reflects my profession as a paramedic. I'm also known as "Rocko", which is the name of one of my fictional football players on Madden 07 (need to get 08). And since joining the internet revolution, I've also been "hassolee" which is a play on the letters of another word.

You use Paulie because I started calling you that when you first starting coming around here... ;)
I go by BaldRob, primarily because I'm bald and my name is Rob...

I'm McLovin!
LOL! That movie is hilarious.
I wanted to pick a screen name when I first started the site, but after thinking about it, I decided to just use my first name. I thought as the founder of the site it would be a little more personable to new members.

When I was registering for the site, I was mainly focused on getting advice and encouragement on headshaving. It was the first time that I had ever joined any type of web forum and I was a little nervous about how much personal info to give out (including my name). SLYinKC was just something that came to mind since I live in the Kansas City metro area. Since getting more involved in the site, I have many times considered changing it to my real name. Seems like most everyone here knows me as Rick, anyways. But after 9 months it just seems to be like a second name. I'm just waiting for the day I actually run into someone out in public and they call me by my screen name.

That's amazing, it's my story--but that's true of many posts here! My screen name is a shortened version of the name I use for our Mardi Gras parade parties and plays on the name of the street I live on. I'm still far less comfortable w/ having information on the web than I am being Sly. Something to do w/ wanting to be able to Google my name and come up w/ and empty screen. I do like this place, probably here more than I should from a time spent perspective. But, I rationalize, if I can help just one fencer over the hump, it's worth it.

Probably the only person who can figure out where my screen name comes from is TY. The easy part would be the 007 from James Bond.
So lets see who can guess (other than TY) where the first part comes from.. it'll make it more fun to see what people think..... ???

When I registered to join this site, for some reason, the name of the Racer X character from the old Speed Racer cartoons popped into my head. I don't know why; I hadn't thought about that show in many years. But for some reason, I thought of it, so I just modified it slightly to fit with the theme of the forum.
-
When I joined up, I used "KySLY" because like Rick I was a little hesitant for some reason about sharing my actual name, but sometime later I just changed it to "Scott" you know cuz that's my actual name, well one of them!
My first name is Christopher so on the 1st day of culinary school they gave us our uniforms and nametags and what name did mine say? Chris. After I mentioned it they told me I'd have to wait until the next semester to get a new one, so I had to get used to being called "Chris" for the first time in my life.
Same thing happened when I started working at Kroger here in Louisville - they had my nametag for me and it said "Chris." All of my friends and family back home call me "Scott" so it's kinda weird and sometimes feels like I live a double life?!

Cool new avatar JDog! Diggin' the shine bro!

My name comes from back in the late 90s when I was in college. The first time I got on the internet was when my college roomate and myself had a WEBTV and we would go in these chat rooms and talk to girls. My handle was Nick912 (it generated it for me) and I have always used it for passwords and stuff since then
