Hey guys, just thought I'd post that if you live in the Portland Oregon area, you can catch my band Circled By Hounds weekly and monthly at our two recurring gigs...

Vash, that's awesome that the band is out there getting the needed visiibility. Bummed I don't live out there to catch a set. Still wanna know WHEN YOU GUYS GONNA ENTERTAIN THE CHICAGO IRISH!! Hell, think we could even get that cajun irishman paulie up here for that.

This is such a wild hoot too.... my son is 27, loves the local Irish pubs, and the music... *AND* when he came back to town after his session as an OutDoor School camp counselor, he had shaved his head!! He is now SLY! I told him about your web site!
He didn't even know I had adopted you guys!

We want to get out to more of the country and more of the world, believe me! But basically it comes down to the costs involved. When we factor in travel expenses, lodging, meals and time off (see: loss of income) from day jobs, it gets REALLY (let me emphasis REALLY!) expensive for band (in our case 4 people) to travel to play. Sad but true :-\
I mean, even if we get our travel/lodging/meals covered, we each still lose wages ($10-$14/hr, each) for whatever days we miss form work to play a show.
So, we are taking a slow, grass roots approach to seeking musical fame and fortune. Get noticed and popular in Portland and the immediate area, then spread out to the rest of the state, then nearby states and so on and so forth. We'd love to play all over the U.S, Europe, Japan and pretty much anywhere else people would enjoy us. We just gotta get there O0

Attention, Portland locals...
As part of our bid to take over the musical world, Circled By Hounds is planning to record our First Thursday show at The Bitter End Pub. The show will commence, this Thursday, Feb. 7th as usual, at 9:30pm at the Bitter End Pub (1981 West Burnside St, Portland, Oregon 97209). There's no cover and we are looking to pack as many bodies into the place as possible, so bring a friend or six!!!
Our plan is to use the best 5 or 6 tracks from the night to make a live demo CD to help us get more gigs in the Portland area and beyond. Given that we have a good enough crowd and a good enough night, it could turn into a live CD. We'll leave that in your capable, albeit, drunken hands...
If you have any friends in the Portland/Vancouver area who might dig what we do, please forward this on to them. More people means a bigger, better louder crowd, which means a bigger, better louder show! We'll be micing the audience, and the better your response, the better we sound. So help us further our carreer in music and come lend your voice to the barroom chorus!!
