Congratulations Dan! Let us know how the training goes. I've been interested in learning for many years.

Congrats Dan! I play the guitar as well. I've been playing since I was 13. Here is a picture
of my Taylor Acoustic Guitar. I've owned about 7 guitars over the years and this is my favorite!

Cool - good luck Danyroo
After years of playing drums I took up playing guitar about 2 to 3 years ago & absolutely love it. I don't think there's ever been a better time to learn as the internet has opened up so many more resources for budding guitarists. I'd recommend checking out wholenote.com ... loads of great tabs & lessons there. Also lots of great tuition to be had offa Youtube ... just type in guitar lessons & take your pic but I'd recommend checking out Mike Herberts - he does some very easy to follow lessons (is also a fellow baldie O:O ) My only regret really is that I didn't take it up more seriously years ago! What sort of guitar style do you go for Danyroo? Myself, I love the old acoustic fingerpicking, ragtime etc O0

I have played music for years and although I am a bass player, I play acoustic guitar when writing or just sitting around. It is alot of fun and I agree there are so many resources on the internet it makes it fun to try new styles or learn songs and stuff.
Just stick with it and you will get the hang of it, it takes some time and practice.

There's an online Guitar program that only costs 50 bones for a life time membership. you get video tutoring, forum access, tabs and charts. Give me a day or two to find the advertisement and I'll shoot it your way.

I have tried playing guitar...the only thing I have learned so far is Amazing Grace ...hey its a start..right. I never took it seriously....but I would like to start up again.

I just don't have the time, cash or patience to get into it at this stage of the game. I'll stick with Guitar Hero 2 and 3 so that I can pretend that I know what I'm doing.

Once you know one song and practice it so you can play it well, then learn another... thats how you get good.
