Title: Shave your?
Post by: Noner on November 29, 2006, 01:57:37 PM
Yes we all shave our heads but how do you guys keep your body hair?

Being Italian, I have a lot of arm, leg and chest hair. The only thing I will shave is my back.

What about everyone else?

I don't shave anywere else but my head and neck.  I do trim in other areas.

I've shaved just about everywhere at one time or another, except my back, no hair there (yet).   I don't shave consistently anywhere but my head and face.

;)Ahoy, Medic. Judging from your pic, you have some prominent veins on your scalp. I also am discovering various nooks and crannies, now that I am comletely bald. How do you keep from nicking them? First, I shave with the grain, but then to finish I shave against the grain, making additional passes until my fingers tell me that I am slick. Not rushing seems the key to me. What cream/gel do you recommend? Professor Melon

umm... let see.  Head, face yup shave those.  Trim the chest.  Not enough hair on the back and arms (despite being Latin roots).  Oh, and when I have the time and want to impress the wife, I shave the kids.

Well Professor, the key to not nicking the head veins is to not shave bent over.  The veins only pop out when you have your head down!  My co-worker says if he ever takes me to the hospital, he's going to start my IV in them.

I shave totally against the grain, then every which way to get completely smooth.  I stick with HeadLube.  I've used some other stuff, King of Shaves is pretty good, but it seems to REALLY dry my scalp.

As time goes on, you'll certainly know more about the layout of your scalp.  As you train yourself in the art of shaving, I think it becomes automatic to adjust to these areas without even thinking about it.  I very rarely get a nick.

Shaving the face and head are great.  A few years ago, I had some surgery and being quite hirsuite, it was itchy when it grew back.  As for the kids, that sounds just way to uncomfortable!

For Holloween in 2005 I went as Uncle Fester.  I shaved off my eyebrows to make it look complete.  I have shaved my eyebrows off many times since then to.  They are so light that anyway, and no one ever notices when I shave them off!

I'm not very hairy to begin with, but I shave my chest and stomach, and trim down below. I've actually been thinking about shaving my arms because I have tattoos on them and I think my ink would look better without the hair... I'm still not sure I'm going to do it though.

I would agree that shaving your arms would show the ink better.  I know a couple dudes that you can't hardly see their tats through all the arm hair.

I did have to trim the boys to have my vasectomy done. The wife probly didn't care one way or the other honestly. But if I were to do that on a regular basis, she A) Have to be a pretty special lady, or B) Show her appreciation..... >:D

Hariy back and everything else here. Tired shaving the kids but it itched too much. I did stay shaved down south after my vasectomy, but the wife said it itched it her so I let it come back in. So, for now, only the head on top gets the razor....

WAXED or shaved arms...start lookin' around, you'll see.........nothin'...

i started noticing it at the gym...then later started to notice it outside the gym when waitin' in line or  when you're out doing everyday errands, ect...

....most of the times no where near buff...sometimes pretty scrawny....

it's definately a trend...

I think I send too much time in the dude section at the gym.... :(

I have noticed in general that guys seem to be less hairy, but I can't tell if that's by nature or by choice.   I had my back, chest and abdomen lasered to remove the hair because I was never really comfortable about all the body hair I had.   Back turned out really good; front is about 80% better but not completely gone.  What's left is rather patchy, but at least now trimming or shaving it is a manageable task -- which was definitely not the case before.   I'd like to get rid of the hair on my arms, but it isn't dark enough to be effectively lasered.

Nothing below the waist has ever been or ever will be shaved.

I would like to have my back, shoulders lasered.  I trim my whole body, and have only completely shaved my chest/abdomen a couple of times.  I am a pretty hairy guy, so the stubble was too much.  Trimming seems to work for now.

I had the same problem.  I have very coarse hair, so it was always very itchy and uncomfortable and there was too much of it for shaving to be a practical option.  Also, since I've been working out, I'd like to be able to see the results of my labor instead of having them hidden under mounds (and I do mean mounds) of hair.  I'd been thinking about it for a long time and finally did it because I started to notice a few grey chest hairs, which meant it was now or never because grey hairs aren't affected by the laser.   Overall, it's been a big improvement, though I wish I'd been able to get rid of the chest and abdomen hair entirely.

Blagadan... All that I have to say is to each his own.  I proudly mow down the happy trail, all be it carefully and delicately.

As far as the trend goes, hairless arms & scrawny young dudes, its a trend due to all the Pop Emo Kids.  Nothing against 'em, but as the joke goes:
"How many Emo Kids does it take to screw in a Light Bulb?"

"Who Cares, let 'em sit and Cry in the Dark!".

I could care less if they shave their arms, don't eat, or wear Womens' Jeans [also a pop trend with those brand of kids currently]; just means I look better in comparison!  What Woman wants a stick bug who sits and cry's in her jeans, when she can have a Bad A$$ Devil like myself?  Let them take themselves out the race, Life is a competition & the easiest way to score first is by tripping the man in second!  >:D

There are no female members or photos of women. Posts and photos are often very explicit. Having said that if you or anyone else is still interested PM or email me, tsshaver1@gmail.com. But I dont want ingrowing hairs around my privates as Ive heard thats a nightmare plus I think it would be hard to shave the sack without cutting it.

Armpit hair is pretty much the same, I dont want to get ingrowing hairs and there they are very painful as Ive discovered before(I didnt even shave there).

So any hints or tricks. Or do you have to shave it everyday to stop this?

Basically you do have to shave regularly to keep it smooth to avoid ingrown hairs other irritation and it will itch somewhat when and if you grow it back. It isn't hard to do or to maintain. You skin gets ued to it very quickly. Private message me if you wand more info

BUT

I am very tempted to start doing my armpit hair but the ingrowing hair troubles me

I shave pretty much everything from belt to neck now. Chest/stomach, arms, and armpits. I trim everything else, aside from my legs. Kori is trying to get me to shave my legs, but I don't know if I'm going to or not.

If you've got bigger calves...I say go for it...why would you only have hair there? These days I find myself thinkin' the shaved/ waxed forearms look real cool...

but my forearms are wimpy, so until they get a bit more buffed out (maybe never happen :()... trimmin' will have to do!

My forearms aren't very big, but I have several tattoos on each one and I can't stand the way ink looks with hair all over it. Kori tried to tell me that I wouldn't like my armpits shaved, but I tend to sweat a lot, especially under my arms. I shaved them and noticed a HUGE difference. My shirts stay dry now, thank God, lol.

I've been thinking about doing my legs more and more here lately, I think I may give it a shot tonight and see how I like it. It's just hair anyways, it'll grow back!

Okay, so I've given myself about a day to get used to it and the verdict is in.. .I love it. The way that my legs feel with pants on is badass. I think I've made my mind up that I am not going to grow the hair on my legs back. That almost makes me a full body shaver now. Damn.

Yea, my fear if i ever did, especially since I have darker hair is I'd feel too "fleshy", you know what i mean? I'm one of those dude's that has muscle, but i feel like I'm a bit doughy (not cut to MY liking  )...

so no hair in certain areas might highlight that fact...at least in MY mind!

Maybe one day though...

really want to do the forearms, but gotta get them a little more buff, like I mentioned! O0

I'm going to jump in here too.  I've shaved everything at one time or another, except for my rear end or back (no hair there).  I'm currently keeping my forearms shaved, and my boys.  That is an experience :D  Regarding my forearms, I'm not huge, but I'd say pretty well defined.  The thing I like is the way my veins show up so much better.  Like last time I gave blood, the tech says, "OHHH, that's a monster!" I thought, "yeah baby" 8)

Anyhow, I'll probably try my chest again, it seems to get really irritated though.

Go for it! I am glad you are keeping the legs shaved. Body shaver for 20 plus years here. Don't remember what hair looked or felt like. Don't know if there is more? less? (Gods forbid) gray! feels great, sexier too with no hair

Great new photo Andre! It's a boy right? As to your forearms your last pick looked like hairless forearms. I think you should stop worrying and shave. Your arms are plenty buff to pull it off

Go for it Medic, but irritation goe away in a very short time, a week at most. Your skin gets used to being shaved but you must shave often enough so that that occurs. How you doing with the brows? Mine are going to stay shaved indefinitely ( knowing myself probably for ever)

I'm letting the brows grow back.  I guess I got that out of my system for a while.  No one even noticed though, I was kind of disappointed.

Sorry about the eyebrows, keeping mine shaved. My partner either did not notice or just did not mention it. ( I have done this 3 times before) I like the look and since I normally wear reading glasses the look is cleaner. Shaved chest is cool. Try to stay with it

Lol you are right Cam. Well most of my self pics are nude and are cropped for the public. I run a body shaving Yahoo group as I have mentioned elsewhere.  I dislike wearing clothes for the most part though my background is in fashion.  I am older, but I still have muscles I worked hard for. I agree too!  In fact, I have to admit that I like being a bald sasquatch. Funny how the same genetics and hormones that make you lose hair often make you a hairy gorilla elsewhere!

While I don't get into the body shaving thing myself, I admit that if everyone were the same, it would be pretty boring!  So have at it my sly bodyshavers!

Well you sweat less for one.  Plus underarm hair is not exactly beautiful is it?  The WWE wrestlers mostly shave their pits as well as other areas and there is a trend towards male body hair removal among young guys and nudists. "no sweaters on the beach"   Most straight male porn stars shave everything below the neck. Maybe the monkey thing you mention  is more universal than we think? I have always shaved my body because I like it smooth unlike monkeys. Each era has its own standards of beauty

Isn't it a great feeling?? smooth legs into pants??? or even the feel of sheets
when you go to bed totally smooth???
I don't keep myself hairless full time (except the scalp), but the times I tried
shaving my body I loved expecially the feel of if... once I even waxed all off
and loved the end results...

Anyway don't feel at ease being seen wirh no hair... so i always let it grow back
expecially when Summer is coming closer

bye

Been with my wife now 25 yrs, she keeps herself nice and smooth.... dam she's hot..  :@` and well for her, I have been sly for a while now except my head.... now I am totally sly bald guy  O0  It ain't no problem if you keep on top of it.

It may take her a while to get used to the smooth dome look, but it is staying shaved too.
