hey everybody.
i'm a new member and a week within my newly shaved head. it's taken that long for me accept the change and i am becoming more accustomed to the drastic change.
i still feel the simultaneous head chill and the head wet. don't know if that will change.
my scalp feels itchy too. yeah i am playing with it, for the fun of it, but i end up scraping up dead skin on the dome, and i wonder if this is healthy.
i also don't totally understand "bumps" but i think i may have this condition. i feel tiny tiny tiny bumps around my ears. maybe i shaved to close or something. i bought the yellow sport roller blade, still getting used to it. i will give it a month though, as you guys suggest.
what is the history behind the phrase "sly". i've never heard it before, googled it, but it came up blank.
thanks in advance for your responses.
pic for you...hopefully it loads up

The bumps on the head...they will go away, youre just not use to shaving that area yet....but it will get smooth and shinny. Good to hear you bought the headblade sport. Thats what I use along with the Headslick shaving lotion. Just post up anytime you have any questions at all....thats what we are here for. See ya bro

WELL BUSTER, SOME TIMES ya get the "BUMPS" from not having shaved an area that close before, sometimes its from shaving "against the grain" everyones hair/beard grows a little different than the next guyz. sometimes parts of your neck/behind ur ears may be a little sensitive to a new lotion/cream alot of it will be trial n error , sometimes that can become a lill expensive. OH YEA, welcome aboard , me being a newbie my self to the group i just joined about a week ago been shaving awhile. i havent even found the right pic to down load, for the profile, yet.as far as the "sly" nominer , i couldnt tell ya, ya might have to wait awhile to find out, HELL... maybe its a "Smooth Lookin Youngster" juz me bein a smart a.. Welcome to the forum Buster.
There is a thread on here about the "meaning of "sly"

Buster, welcome to Sly Bald Guys. ShySlyGuy sent you in the right direction to learn the meaning behind Sly. As for your bumps, I have that you're using the HeadBlade sport, but what shaving cream are you using? Do you go with the grain, against the grain, or both?
-
Welcome Buster, great to have you join us. You might want to add two things to your shave routine to help during this winter weather. Use an exfoliatant before shaving, (a lot of us use St Ives Apricot scrub) this will remove dead skin before the lathering up, and a moisturizer after shaving, like HeadLube or BaldGuyz Moisturing gel. Both will help you maintain a great sly look.

Welcome to the World of the SLY, Buster!!! 8)

Welcome! Your slickness suites you brotha!
-
Welcome aboard. I shave against the grain and I get those little bumps when I skip a day shaving. I think it's the hair trying to puch back out. Anyway, glad to have you here.
-
wellcome bro!!!
the best look for you!!!

Buster, Welcome to SBG's! and glad you joined us.
Stick with it as Nomad said, and it will just get easier and easier. Stay with the HeadBlade and get used to it, it's the best tool for the job.
Prep is also important as Paul stated, use apricot scrub, or try the Headshed (by Headblade), I use it and it works well.
Remember to take long, smooth strokes with your HB, and maybe try going with the grain at first to let the scalp get used to being scraped.
Finishing up, you will want to try different products to see what works best for you.
As Porkster said, parts of you may be more sensitive to certain lotions, so try the ones made specifically for the head shaver. (Headlube, Bald Guyz Moisture gel).
Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes. O0
