What age did you start balding at?
For me it was around 24.

My hairline started moving back about 24-26. The gray was concern and that started in noticable small spots about 22. >:(

Same with me. It started at around the age of 23/24. By the time I was 24 it was quite evident that I would lose most of my hair at some point in the future.
The balding area is at the top of my head, the sides and the back are as hairy as they were when I was "young". ;)

mine started receding about early twenties. ( think kevin costner. just two spots. my wife noticed it was thinning on top last january. and buzzed it for me so i could shave it. now she likes it.

Guys this is no joke. I started baling in high school.
I had to sport the "Cesar" cut because it covered my receeding hairline. It really sucked but I soon learned the ways of the force 3 years after high school and shaved my head.
I would have done it in high school but that's before shaved heads were mainstream and people would have thought I was some kind of young skinhead.

But now all of the hot girls from high school are fat, and I am one sexy beast.

Mine started heading back around 19 or 20... But since I was just in the reserves, no big deal. I really started to notice it when I went active duty in the Navy... little stricter standards than the reserves.
I think this is my third time shaving my head clean... first time was in 94, then again in 99, and the last time was 2004 (and it's been this way ever since!)

I first noticed some recession when I was about 20; it probably had been going on for a year or two before I realized it. It progressed very slowly. Then when I hit 30, it receded more quickly and thinned out all over the top.

I'm mostly balding on the crown of my head and thinning up top. I could probably get away with growing it out about an inch and still look ok, but I wouldn't have as much confidence in myself.

My hairline started receding when I was about 17 (2 and a half years ago). I didn't notice it much back then. When I was 18 it was more apparent, but wasn't bothering me that much. Earlier this year it was ALL I could think about. Seriously. My hair was thinning in the front and I had to keep it very short so it wouldn't show that much (Long hair makes it so a receding hairline shows a lot), afterwards it was too much to bare so I shaved it completely.

For me it probably started when I was 21-22. I never receeded, the top of my head just started to get thin. I had long hair and I sported it in a ponytail until May. Then I decided to cut my hair short; and that's when it really hit me: I'm going f****ng bald. I was devastated, and still am in a way. Since May things have gone downhill and it doesn't help when my parents and sister say: your hair is the same as always, etc. Talking about denial... ::)

Hit me at about the late 20's. A quick spurt and then it slowed down dramatically. About 40, it picked up speed and I went to about 50% loss on top in a year or two. Has held its own for the past four or five years.

I still have a full head of hair. Just have never liked my hair, kept it short since the military, started shaving it a couple years ago, and love it.

When i was 16 i started. On my 17th birthday my haircutter noticed thinning in temples/crown. I am now 18 and probably a NW 3. Somethings gotta give, way more men are balding at an earlier age methinks. Anyways gonna bic it soon :D

Get something that won't abrade your scalp, e.g. Mach III Turbo, Schick Extreme, or Headblade, especially if you're coming off a # 2 or #1 buzz cut. I started balding in high school. In college, a couple of dorks called me the "Missing Link". Pro Wrestling was big back then, and there was a character that had bushy hair, but shaved off some towards the front of his dome except for a patch. Odd look, but I had somewhat of a patch up front also (like a small island of hair).
I was holding strong for a few years, but two kids later, the hair loss shifted into overdrive. For the longest time, I've been telling people I look great from the neck down (used to run half-marathons, played ice hockey, etc etc). But since I shaved it, people have said I look so much younger (turned 40 in May '06).

Way to hang tough. However, next time she comes home with a drastic haircut/change(long to short, new highlights, new color, whatever) you can pull out the go back to the old look or i'm moving on card. ;D
Seriously I understand her liking hair more, but love is not skin deep, or at least it shouldn't be.

I am indeed a casualty of MPB.
Dig this. Since being married, Nancy and I have never had apartments/homes with mirror configurations where I could readily see the back of my noggin. Nor was I ever particularly interested.
My only opportunity was at the barber where they give you the mirror to see that the back is how you wanted it.
Well, I never noticed...until the other day--checking the back of the noggin after shaving it...and then rubbing it incessantly as the stubble comes back
Got an already-tan spot about 4 to 6 inches in diameter back there....and not much stubble.
No one ever told me :-X :'(

Started balding in my late teens ... it's just been disappearing ever since, only back and sides left.

I am 28 now and still have full hair but I always liked the bald looked and treid it a couple of times.
I don't think that there is anything bad about balding ... in fact I wish I would loose my hair ... because that would make the decision about shaving the head again much easier. ;)

I guess that I'm one of the lucky ones, If I choose to grow my hair back, it would be thick long and dark brown. I never did start losing my hair. Unlike my older brother who has been loosing his for a long time, since he was in high school. I keep trying to convince him to go the way of the Sly, but he won't. Every year for christmas I give him a joke gift like a fake gift certificate to the House Of Masters, or Rogain, this year I gave him a complete set of HeadBlade products. Any other Ideas???

I first noticed the receding temples sometime in '98 (I was 26) So I guess I would say age 26....The crown started thinning out about eight years later. I remember the flattops I had in high school and it seemed that the top center was a little thinner than the rest of the flattop. Found one of my early baby pictures when I was about six months old and found that the hair at my crown and temples wasn't growing like the rest of my hair was....who knew that a baby picture would end up being a self-fulfilling prophecy!

At the age of about 14 or so... unfortunately or fortunately, MPB at a young ages seems to run in the family.

I started receding at 17, but then rapidly thinned and started losing at about 19/20. I think the fact that it happened now made me create positive changes in my life.
