Title: Has this ever happened to you?
Post by: n00tch on November 02, 2007, 12:57:10 PM
I was walking out to my car on Sunday night when out of the blue some a$$hole yells, "f**k you skinhead!"

Well, my first reaction would have been to throw something at his car if I had anything. I had to settle for "Suck my cock dingleberry."

Not being satisfied with that answer, I think the next time that happens I'm gonna tell the person to f**k off because I've got Leukemia. I can't express how pissed off that comment made me. If I were any kind of skinhead, it would be a  SHARP ( Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice ). I hate it when assholes make snap judgements about things they have no idea about.

Judging "books by their covers" is as old as man. It still pisses you off. p0@^

I've never had anyone call me a skinhead, thankfully. If someone does yell something from a passing car, I just ignore them. Not worth my time to give them the satisfaction of getting a rise out of me.

n00tch....1st of all...sorry that U were a victim of an ignorant verbal jab from some idiot.  thankfully.... i was never called a skinhead but have been called other hateful, racial things in the past.  well.... the best thing 2 do when someone gives u an ignorant verbal jab is 2 ignore it & just walk away because u don't want 2 give that ignorant person the satisfication of a "comeback" from u.

besides....there R "crazy" people out there.... what would happen if u did something else?  that idiot might try 2 shoot u or stab u or something crazy.  unfortunately.... that's one thing that  we can't get rid of is IGNORANT A$$H^LES.  they R like roaches we just learn 2 live with them. :/O  well that my 2 CENTS.

Yeah, I've had a couple incidents where I've been accused of being racist.  It was pretty funny when the last guy that did it was there to watch my Filipina wife come up to greet me.  Priceless!

I would just flip em off unless the "redneck" in me kicks in, then I chase them down and beat the sh*t out of em  :x!

Thankfully this hasn't happened to me, but if it ever did,
I'm sure it wouldn't take long for the "new york" in me to come out.     >:( :x!

Hasn't ever happened to me.  I'd like to think that if it did, they just wouldn't be worth my time.  But I'm sure that in the heat of the moment, it might be a different story.

I wrote on a previous post that I have been accused of being a Neo-Nazi.
This was before I buzzed the hair. I was at a neighborhood bar having a drink with my fiance' (Black) and my sax player (very Jewish).  An individual came up to inform me that there was a rumour going around and they wanted to to know if it was true. We at first just stared in disbelief then we burst out laughing.

I other words don't worry about it.

If the opportunity ever arises you can always play stupid and kindly ask the person if they meant to insult you or if they just liked your bald head. It would probably make them feel foolish having to explain what they meant.

Yeah, dude, I know what you mean. I've gotten sh*t from people who think I'm a skinhead in the past and it makes me furious. Not only is that a question of my character, but also my intelligence. I mean, you have to be pretty damn stupid to be that closed minded to begin with.

Alright, I have to say this. I live in the south of US of A and it is true that people here are more friendly than alot of places. Of course this only seems to be true away from the net, cause there are alot of friendly people you meet such as in this forum. The road in front of my house is pretty busy on saturdays, and 9 out of 10 people that I have never seen before will wave as the pass by. I know what your thinking, its because I am so damn sexy and Sly  8) they have to wave, but its more that that.
But to my point, if someone yells something negative to you around here, its will usually be a "neck" tryin to impress his bud. Once you chase him down and  :x! , his bud is usually impressed  O0

I haven't been called a skinhead yet, but it's only been 2 months sly.

This past Saturday while driving down a main road in our town, some dope was weaving back and forth between cars very fast.  When I pulled up next to him at a light, with my sunglasses and leather baseball cap, and flipped him the bird, he made a sign for me to calm down.  Geez, I don't remember having that effect on people in the past.  My slyness seems to be giving everyone the impression that I'm a bad a$$, which I'm really not. (unless a reckless driver almost runs me off the road)

It's certainly a new experience for me.  I've always been that guy that everyone gets along with.  In fact, I'm often the one that tries to mediate trouble between people - family, friends, and co-workers.  It's interesting how a new look can make people's first impressions change so much.  But, it is fun ...   DAMN IT!!! :Xo!

Andrew, I have always thought that since you posted your sly pic, that you looked intimidating.  But I know from experience that you can't judge a book by it's cover.  I work at a carpet warehouse store and when I first started working there, a former warehouse guy came to work a day or two there.  Later when we talked, he told me that I looked pretty mean.  Most people will find that I am actually pretty soft spoken.  So, if I just keep my mouth shut, I'd get more respect!

I get alot of comments that I look mean and I have had people self intimidate themselves off my looks, whatever... I guess they just assume too much.

Growing up in the punk rock scene, I would get skinhead comments but many of my friends are Hispanic etc. so I have never been accused of being racist (most people that know skinheads know they are not all racist).

I have made conscious decisions to thwart this negativity... I was shopping for a new winter coat recently and came across a sweet flight jacket... bad idea.

Hey Marsh...what carpet warehouse you work at?  I am a store manager for a retail carpet business.  Just curious.

old ladies tend to cross the road when I'm walkin past, but then I give em the smile and they always look plesantly surprised.  Sometimes when I'm in a store I can see the security guards keepin an eye on me as if they think I'll be stealin something soon as their backs are turned.

Its an image thing: people see the shaved head and immediately assume you're a bad a$$, but when they get to know me they soon realise they were wrong.

But I agree with andrew that its FUN sometimes! 8)

Yesterday, I saw one of my daughter's friends (both 14  year-olds) for the first time since going sly.  Her comments were "I love it.  You look really ghetto."    I'm glad she liked it but not quite sure what the "ghetto" look is.

I'm listening to slang that I have never heard before either. When either of my kids say something is _____________ (fill in the current term), I just ask them, "Why don't you just say 'That is great / awesome / cool' or what ever they want to use? A couple of terms they've come home with sound more derogatory than complimentary.

Yeah, like saying someone looks 'sick' when they are perfectly well and don't look sick to me at all...Apparently looking sick is looking cool!?! :/O

So I guess we all look slick and sick, brutha's!

I remember saying "Bad" as a kid and it meaning good.

Marz - "Wow, that Camaro is bad!"

Dad - "I think that is a great Camaro, whats wrong with it?"

Marz - "Thats what I meant, its bad like good"

Dad - "You are an idiot son... are you sure your not the mail mans boy?"

A buddy and I used to have that same problem with mall security before I ever went SLY. They would follow us all the way through the mall, so we'd just walk aimlessly and laugh at them.

Nah, airports are no biggie. Just leave the knives, sawed offs, bottled water and baby formula at home and they won't care.

No Andrew, you won't be followed or questioned. No more than any other passenger would if they've alarmed. In fact you won't believe how many sly guys there are at the airport. (passengers, workers.)
Just follow Schro's advice and you'll be fine, lol.
Make sure you take your laptop and other electronics of the same size; dvd players, etc.
out of their cases and into a bin by themselves. cpap's will also need to go through x-ray.
