You know who really needs to let go? Over the hill baby boomers that somewhere back when they were spin dancing naked and listening to Moby Grape decided that no matter how ridiculous and mangy it may be, hair fell into the "more is better" category.
40 years later, they are still holding on to a cape of hair on the back of their head. Is this to remind the world they are still a "hip" and "radical" individual riding the peace train to freedom.

Do you really think that holding on to that overgrowth of neck hair is really making any kind of statement other than "I can hold on to my hair longer than I can hold on to my values" or are you afraid the joint wont get passed to you at the next Eagles reunion / farewell tour?

Actually, I have no problem with Carlin. I think he's hysterical. I'm just returning serve (to use BalDoug's tennis analogy).
Some white guys have shaven their heads for charity, some for MPB, and others (me) for health reasons. If it's a fashion statement he's disagreeing with, fine. Personally, I think 60 year old men that are balding but are still sporting a semi-mullet ought to be stripped naked, duct taped to a tree, have honey poured on their genitals, and set next to a fire ant hill.

That G.C. hasn't aged well is the understatement of the century. Even his voice sounds like he has been around the block zillions of times.

There are a few people sly won't help, GC is one, he looks like "he's been rode hard and put up wet" and nothing, shaving, toupee, hair transplants etc. is going to help. He has to make people laugh at what he says so HE won't notice them laughing at how he looks, as the above said, skullet--and it looks like mutton dressed as lamb. :D

All I can say to this is, like Schro said he does have the right to his opinion, but he is living proof that the 60's were very hard on people. They seem to be stuck in them. Not much left upstairs to form an objective opinion.

Ever notice that it's people like GC and Don Imus -- both of whom are hideous beyond belief -- that are always making fun of how other people look? GC's joke might have been funny if he had a perfect head of hair himself. That being said, I'm not offended by it. Who cares what he thinks and would anyone really want to look like him?

Marz, That reply was brilliant! Made my day. As someone turning 46 next month it really pisses me off that people born in the 60's are misrepresented as being boomers. We are nothing like them.
On another subject: ROB6, How do you get such a close trim? I've been doing a #1 for about a month but it still seems too long. Your's has more of a shadow look to it. What's your secret?

Ol' Georgy Boy used to be my favorite comedian. I love that observational humor. Jerry Seinfeld has now cornered the market on that.
Carlin has become more and more ornery over the years. And his "bits" contain more and more bilious rants against everything from bald white guys to religion (he has a bit called "religion is bullsh**").
I will still rent a DVD of his now and again, but I have to fast forward through a BUNCH of his crotchety venomous soap boxes.
There are plenty-- if not most-- comedians out there that are NOT conservative, that's not my beef.
Now in his 70's he just seems filled with so much "pus" these days.

This is a frickin' excellent point; and was what i really had on my mind; Leave it to the Razor-sharp intellect of Razor X to put it into the proper words. ;) But yeah; when listening to the vid. my (unformed, inarticulate) thought was : "who the f**k is HE to talk about how bad ANYONE looks ?!?!?

There are 3 black members that immediately come to mind (Leigh, Socrates, and Adamsville Ace). As this is a purely voluntary forum, I can't explain the small number of black sly guys. I know Tyler's marketing is not done by ethnicity.

I agree, Carlin's style is abrasive. If he was making fun of some other "type" of person, I think alot of the people who are bashing him here would prob be chuckling if thet weren't the direct recipient of the insulting statement.... I love Carlin, but he is one fugly mother trucker. I also agree that going sly probably wouldn't help his appearance very much.

I saw GC live years ago and he had that bald head / pony tail thing going on. I remember my ex-wife commenting on how rediculous he looked. If she said it, I'm sure others did too.
So, perhaps the root of his joke may be traced back to his own insecurities about hair issues and trying to redirect them to others. Probably not - it was just a joke and a bad one at that.

Actually, there are other black members as well (Trevor, MississippiRed, and ezekielharvey) they just aren't as active. I wish it would even out more.

There was a time when I thought Carlin was hilarious. I remember a show he had on HBO in 1982 - the piece was about how a dog sees his owner leave the house and the dog believes the owner is gone - FOREVER! When the owner returns, the dog is always happy beyond belief. Anyway, he told it a lot funnier than I did.
He is entitled to his own opinion and his views, but I won't waste my time paying attention to them. I know he hates organized religion. I have no time for that, as an order of Catholic nuns in Colombia ran an orphanage that rescued my wife when she was a newborn. I doubt very much if Carlin woudl put himself out like that for anyone, including himself.

Amen to that Brother! The Carlin's of the world can't stand being told that there are some things they NEED to do; and that certain things are WRONG to do. I write comedy and Carlin is GOD! I like his older stuff better but the new stuff is great however, Lewis Black is the best "angry white man" on the stage today.
I heard that skit the first time and went to the shower and shaved. Just like when I see a Truth commercial, I light up and have a smoke.

Observational comedy is funny but only when it is really true, I have found his later stuff lacks the "nail on the head" hits that his earlier stuff possessed. I get a beating a dead horse feeling from him now.

Sorry don't understand Estonian language, it's like greek to me. It sounds damn funny to us Finns since they got "almost similar" words and almost the same intonation than us, but not quite.
