As I am walking around the house on a lazy Sunday afternoon picking up the two “land mines†my 10-month old miniature pinscher left around the house, I had a thought. I began to wonder how many other bald guys out there have little dogs, big dogs, cats or all the above.
I have one min pin and our Shar Pei ran away about four months ago, when she was in heat. My wife wants another wrinkle ball, but I want I really dog, a Rottweiler
What does every one else have?
-
We have a mini schnauzer and two cats. The schnauzer leaves land mines on the couch once in a while. And of course, she's the wife's dog, but I have to take care of that.
-
dalmation, mutt and a big grumpy ass cat. kinda funny i was thinking about this topic earlier. i reckon great minds think alike.
-
yes sir.
-
My wife and I have a bunch of fish...but I don't really consider those pets. The second I buy a house is the second I start looking for a couple of dogs.
-
I have a big ol' spoiled rotten Golden Retriever... who hasn't quite gotten the concept that she's a retriever and that means when I throw a ball, she should go get it...
-
I've got a red heeler, the wife has two cats, daughter has one and she also has two fish. I used to have a rottweiler mutt too, but I had to put her down this summer.

We Have 2 little Dogs... who I love to death... A Yorkie and a Maltese... And of course they leave an occasional Bomb or 2 .. lol and the every so lovely Puke!!! they seem to puke more then i would like lol... because like Rats they eat anything haha especially the Maltese..... I consider them my Kids!! how tough am I lol.... but one day I want a Boxer!
-
I used to have three cats - two British Shorthairs (just like the ones on the whiskas labels) and a Main Coon. They were really HUGE. The British Shorthairs were real couch potatoes and were around 12 pounds each, and so was the Main Coon (who was a quite mischievous and full of energy).
My arms really hurt whenever I had to carry them to the vet in those huge carriers.
They now live with my X....damn them lawyers....

Great water dogs and great with the kids.

I've got a rat terrier named Pistol. He's about 21 months old and crazy as hell! I used to have his brother, Ziggy, too. When my ex-wife and I split up she took him and I kept Pistol. Most people can't handle Pistol's insanity and while he does get on my nerves from time to time, I wouldn't change him for anything in the world. He's like another kid to me, I just love that crazy ass dog!

I'm with ya, Cammeister!!!
-
Would love a huskie or malamute, but with my work schedule, until they come up with a dog that: 1) wears Depends,2) has no kidneys, or 3) takes himself for walk and returns, I'll stick with the one cat I've got.

Dude he's a rat terrior! Anything else would be adnormal. We we had a Jack Russel for several years and that dog was great, but not every body liked him. :-\
On a side note. We picked up another mutt from the pound. Part Boxer part bullmastiff.

Best dog I ever knew was my old friend Bart, RIP. 1/2 Malamute Husky and 1/2 Black Lab. He never had to be housetrained because he couldn't stand the warmth in the house for very long before he wanted back outside. But when he wanted to come in the house, he had to shake his coat off outside first. And when I fed him, I'd say sit! He'd sit and I'd say, whad'ya say? and he'd say WOOF! and I'd say, how do you say it? and he'd say woof! :@` God I miss him. He died of stomach cancer on March 12, 2002 :'(
-
I had a huskey growing up, Hercules, RIP, too! :'( I loved that dog he was B&W w/ cold blue eyes. He would scar that crap out of people, but all he wanted was luv. :) After 17 year on earth, he died in his sleep. They are great dogs, but require a lot of attention.
-
I had an Alaskan Malamute. She was so pretty and very smart. Someone stole her! :'( Now I just have to deal with Pistol, Cam's spunky little rat terrier. :D

My family dog passed away last january(2006). Her name was Snuggles and she was an 11 year old lhasa apso.
I have to admit, I have a lot of regret in how everything went down. She didn't feel well months prior but it was never so bad that my mom or anyone thought she needed a trip to the vet. Then in december it got really bad and when my mom took her in it was kidney failure. The thing that scared us most when we first got her. And what upsets me is how I just can't help feel like we let her down and how fast this happened. Maybe it wouldn't have helped at that point, but the vet didn't even recommend trying a special diet for her. I had done research and saw people using them for dogs with kidney issues. And yes I realize a year has passed and I don't think about this that much, but when the subject of pets comes up it will always be on my mind.
And of course it didn't help that as I was getting ready to go to student teach on a friday morning that she died right in front of me. I went in my parents room as I was getting ready to go to work and my mom explained how rough a night she had, and we decided we were putting her down and I would accompany her. As I looked at our dog, I was petting her and I felt her heart stop breathing.
It just bothers me that we basically got the diagnosis two weeks prior to her death. It all happened way too fast.
My younger sister(the one who was in that family pic I posted) got a border collie this past summer that is part of the family, but with my sister's october wedding, we won't see the dog that often.
My mom was especially attached to Snuggles, and I looked for a lhasa this year to give to her as a christmas present within my budget but I didn't find one to my liking. I'll probably start looking again for her birthday in june.

:) :) We have an old-fashioned cream-and appricot Pomeranian; his face does not look as if it has had an encounter with a wall, so he's way off the breed standard but beautiful. In fact, he looks like a miniature Samoyed. Teddy is in good health for a thirteen year old, but he's beginning to show geriatric symnptoms: hearing not what it used to be, occasionally loses it in the house, sleeps more and more. Taking him to the vet can be traumatic, not to mention bankrupting; wife suffers with him as if he were her child. Dread the day we're going to have to put him down. He's got an uncanny canine medical wisdom: licks just were we get cut or bruised, knows exactly what part of our anatomy is freezing and needs body warmth. Best watch-dog we've had; barks like a hooligan when strangers approach our property. Home won't be home without him. Professor Melon

I have a big ol' spoiled rotten Golden Retriever... who hasn't quite gotten the concept that she's a retriever and that means when I throw a ball, she should go get it...
When I was in High School My aunt had a 120lbs female golden named Molly, and she didn't grasp the retreve part. she'd just stand there and look at the ball. I had a lot of fun with her.... I use to pick up chicks with her, sadly my aunt had to put her down she was had eplisie and was having seizures daily... was getting painful so they put her down. I miss my Molly.
When we get a house I want to get a Great Dane and call him Scooby Doo. And if he runs away on me I want to stand on the door step and say "scooby Doo where are you.

I've had a couple of Sheba Inu's over the years. great pocket sized dogs, and smart with a capitol S.
Last year I had to find new homes for my Boxers. Brothers, from the same litter. I recommend a male and a female if you have to have two, a pair of males will be fighting constant dominance issues. But they are great dogs all around.
In the last 10 years I have had and had to find new homes for 4 dogs, 2 cats and 1 snake (6 ft. red tailed Boa).
Anyway, I currently have no pets as my lifestyle wouldn't be fair to them, but I look forward to a stablization that would allow for a small dog. Probably a pound rescue mutt. :@`

LMFAO!!!!!!.... :*)) ;D :*)) ;D

We have an awesome dog, Miko. Supposedly he's 1/2 sheltie, 1/2 dauchsund, though most think he's a minitaure Lab (if there is such a thing). He's probably 18" tall at the shoulders and about 28 lbs. He's now about 20 mos. old, very house trained, and loves running, playing, and chillin with Team Schro. For doing no research and being a "rescue project" (totally neglected litter), we couldn't have gotten a better dog.
Oh, we also have two stupid, irritating, hair ball producing, shedding, loud, needy, and worthless cats that came with the marriage. Can't wait for the cats to go to the big litter box in the sky.

We have a 9 year old dog named Duke. He is half beagle, half German Shepard (try to picture that one).

I'm thinking the German was the mother... :-\
My father-in-law has a half German Shepherd, half Golden Retriever. It basically has the body of a German Shepard with the coat of a Retriever. Beautiful dog!

Found this old post, figured id add to it ;D
This is my "son" Bear:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v132/kollegekreed/Bear/bear_3.jpg
He is a 4 year old greyhound...just passed triple digits and weighs in at 101 pounds. We "Rescued" him from a shelter after he retired from racing in December 06. Greyhounds are just the calmest sweetest pups :)
-
Greyhounds are great dogs. At 101 pounds, Bear must be a big boy!!

Hey KK-
I used to have three greyhounds. They've all passed over the last couple of years. I had to put my old boy Lager down in February of 2007. He had bone cancer in his rear leg. i sure miss that old boy. My son was just crying about him tonight because we watched some old home movies that had Lager in them.
I actuall did greyhound rescue work for about 7 years or so. These are great dogs. That's a huge greyhound you have.
-
I have a mini Daschund and a Llhaso Apso
-
So after I had to put my olr greyhound, Lager, down last year, we decided to get some smaller dogs because we camp a lot and greyhounds are a bit big for that.
So we wound up with two Shih Tzus, Quincy and Ryleigh. They are great little dogs and are tough as nails. We actually call the eight pound female "Killer" because she is the watch dog (big bark but absolutely no bite!).
Back in November I went a got a pup for "myself". A Boston terrier that I named Cooper. A very cool little dog.

If anyone's interested, my rescue group is holding its annual fundraiser right now. Relax -- I'm not asking anyone for any money, but there are some nice pictures on the site, which some of you might enjoy:

Hey Razor-
I don't know much about Wheaton Terriers but they seem like cool dogs. Are those two in that one photo yours?
-
Tim I think you may have overstepped the mark by insulting PBurkes family and comparing them to animals.
If I were him I would give you a virtual boot to the ass bro. :x! :x!
-
I do not give money to Animal Rescue shelters. I have better stuff to spend my money on like beer, cigarettes and porn.
;D Now that should piss off the PETA radicals...........
What's going on JDOG?

Take it for what ever you want to take it....but ya know...i was referring them to their Pets...that they love and have in their home. I wasnt comparing them to just any animal. Besides...If I came across as cruel or causing any harm to anyone...Im sorry....Im not like that and you all should know that by now. Have no reason to cut Pburke and his family that I dont even know..down. I apologize.

Mrs. BW and I rescued this little fart 3 weeks ago. Mrs. BW named him Morris. Yes, I know the name lacks in originality. As long as the Mrs. is happy, phuggit! O0

Well my I have had my cat Misha for 11 years and she is a good kitty. But then again, they say that dogs have owners and cats have SERVANTS! :*)) :o
