Title: Me and my razor...
Post by: CaptainM on October 06, 2007, 10:04:12 AM
Hello everyone,

I have been slick for about a month and a half now. It is really an interesting feeling to be smooth. I have been semi-sly for about 10 years. I had burred my head down with no guard clippers. {I have not paid for a haircut in at least 10 years :) } Unlike some, but like many, I do not grow much hair on the top. So it always has seemed to look better the shorter I have kept it.
I use the mach3 razor and cut against the grain. I use the head blade if I shave a second time in the course of a day. (If I were to go out and want to be totally smooth again.)
Right now I am trying to get my head tanned up to match my neck. lol. I have a line across my upper neck where my hair used to be.
Does anyone use an artificial tanner or just good ole' fashioned sunlight? (I don't know that I will get my head to match my upper neck before summer ends.

Welcome to the Sly Bald Guy Family CaptainM, there are alot of great people on this forum, with alot of great advise. As for sunless tanners, the one that I have tried and it seemed to work pretty well is made by Nivea for Men, and is called Summer Look, it builds a gradual tanned look over a few days and doesn't turn your head orange. It's also a moisturizer, although it does work well, the downfall to this product is that you have to keep useing it to maintain that tanned look, if you stop useing it the tan will fade away.
Hope that helps.

Hey Captain, Welcome to the SBG site, glad you joined us. I haven't used an artificial tanner so I can't tell you what they would be like, but I do recommend getting out in the sun gradually each day. Make sure you put on a good sunscreen, (try Bald Guyz) and give yourself some time outside every day if possible, and weather allows.
You will see after a few weeks things will start to even up.

Good luck and enjoy the forum, and good to hear you use the Headblade too!

Welcome Captain, Glad to have you here.  The only sunless tanner I have ever used is from Nuetrogena.  It worked alright, it also had an SFP15, so it was alright to use in the sun.

Welcome to SBG's Captain.

I suggest putting on a good sunscreen (30spf or more) and letting nature do the work.

Welcome Captain!!!  I've never tried the tanning lotions, but whatever you do, don't forget the sunscreen.
