Hey guys! Nice site you have here. My name is Reid. I'm a teacher and I live in Central Wisconsin. I've been headshaving for about 6 years. Another bald guys site turned me on to wetshaving; so I'm a DE guy. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and to reading your posts.

Welcome Balditicus Maximus. (Great name by the way!)
I'm intrigued by the DE thing too (thanks Tyler for giving us the full meaning, I was wondering what on earth DE meant!)
Also, what is this "other bald site" I've heard mentioned a few times? I have to tell you -- there is no "other" site .... this IS the ONLY truly great forum for bald guys on the net! ;D
O:O O:O
Anyway, hope you decide to stick around.
What subjects do you teach by the way?

Thanks Shy... I teach high school special education. So, subject-wise, it's a little bit of everything.

Actually hour south of Madison just over state line into Illinois. Special Ed high school teacher here also. LD/ED, but caseload and teaching load primarly ED self contained. Love it.

As far as the wetshaving DE thing goes; I'm doing it old school. I'm using the Merkur Antique Style DE razor and I'm whipping up shaving cream with a brush and a cake of shaving soap. I love it. One really nice aspect to it is the cost of the double edge razor blades compared to, say, the Fusion blades. If you buy them off of ebay you can get 100 of them for around $10.00. So I basically shave every other day lately and I'm able to use a brand new blade every time. I get my stuff from this site: www.emsplace.com (http://www.emsplace.com)

Good to see you brutha!

So I basically shave every other day lately and I'm able to use a brand new blade every time.
Reid, do you have to use a new blade each time, or is that your preference?
Also, how many shaves is it possible to get on average with one blade?, I would be using it on my face only.
I also love the idea of using a brush and shaving soap, but I don't think it would be advantageous in the morning routine timewise. :(

Using a blade only once is just my preference, since they're so affordable. As to how many shaves I could actually get out of a blade, I'm really not sure as I've never tried it. If I were to guess I would say probably in the vicinity of 3-5.

Reid!
Hey! It's great to see the "Opinionated Walrus." What brought you here? Did you find that 'other bald site' becoming a bit dull?
Naw, but I think you can never have too many friends!
