Title: Tasered Idiots !
Post by: Robmeister on September 21, 2007, 10:07:59 AM
WTF is with these f**kin morons who forcefully resist arrest and then wonder why the hell they get tasered?

Don't know if you've followed recent news about the knucklehead at U. of Florida and others who've been tasered with public/campus outcry of police brutality....gimme a f**kin break.

I know there are bad apples out there as far as cops go.  That's not the issue.  It is indeed a shame when a citizen is fully cooperative and compliant and gets "dissed" by a bad cop.  But in most situations, if yer in a position or circumstance where you have a cop or two or three placing you under arrest--whether warranted or not--YER the f**kin idiot for kickin' and screaming and not following the instructions of officers.   And if you act like a f**kin moron and get yer ass lit up by a taser....tough sh**.....don't go cryin' foul, dumb sh**!!!

Once an officer has announced yer under arrest and/or to place yer hands behind yer back.....that's it, buddy...whether you deserve it or not...it's time to comply and sort out the details later.   Yer kickin' and flaylin' and screamin' ain't gonna change things...but some idiots in the media and brainless public can't sort out there ass from a hole in the ground.

Sorry, but I just watched 3 news pieces where people who resisted arrest were ultimately tasered or wrestled to the ground...and now, because of "public outcry" these guys who are doing their job are on administrative suspension.

***heavy sigh***

There I feel better.

You don't have to be a "yes" man because of my rant....if you disagree let me know, I'd like to know where I'm off base.

And, NO this is not because of my recent forays into law enforcement.  I've always respected--in the face of massive disrespect--what our under-paid and under-recognized civil service folks do for our cities, counties and states.

Hey meister you sure are pist off......................... :x! :x! :x! :x!

I do agree to some degree of what you say. as per vids on Youtube shows kids going to cops and just out of the blue stick out the finger and sh** like that .. Respect is a rare thing these days.

True some cops abuse the power given to them....but at the same time kids or even older one's pushes the luck...

Seen a vid of a kid the other day..... the cop was WRONG and abusive..... theirs always 2 side of a story...

so vent out....... bud... I'm not disagreeing with you keep in mind. O0 O0

Yeah....no doubt of the bad apples who abuse their position.  I've seen the vids too.  But those are typically situations where the citizen is calm, compliant and cooperative and the cop looks like the idiot that he is.

And I'm not necessarily ranting about the disrespect in-and-of itself and kids doing disrespectful stuff.

I'm talking specifically about dumbsh**ts who resist arrest, kicking, screaming and flayling about....giving officers no other choice but to use more force.....and then they cry "FOUL" and the freakin media and dumb sh** public fall for it.

COULD NOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE RM.  The men and women of our police forces have a much more dangerous world to deal with than did their predecesors.   A simple traffic stop can turn into a bloodbath.  There job is not helped by the liberal media that insists on dramatizing the situation.  They show the suspect resisting arrest but always dwell on the police needing to use sustantial force to deal with the resisting offender.  But the blame is just not on the suspect but on the courts who refuse to follow the concept of majority rule and insist that the criminal has more rights than those trying to protect us.  Ok, I'm am off my soapbox now.

I beg to differ. (To some extend only…)

About the incident you mentioned: how come a group of policemen could not restrain this man without having to resort to excessive measures like those? They just had to seize and expel him from the hall. One can wonder how they would deal with a really dangerous situation.

The guy is probably an agitator; another one could be a little instable, a driver can be drunk… They may be disrespectful, aggressive, anything. The policeman took an oath, and with that comes a great deal of power but also great responsibilities. He cannot be out of line. Each time he is the police forces loose a little respect and trust. That is probably very difficult on a day to day basis: it not an ordinary job; and not a job for ordinary people.

Drop the taser, be a teaser!

Sorry for the clumsy writing style: my English is particularly defective tonight. (Must be the weather.)

Apart from this, what is a “polygraph examination”? Sounds very impressive to me!

Yeah, like he's talking to one of his fraternity buddies, real smart to say to the cop!  :/O
This jerk*** deserved what he got, he was asking for it.

As the great Jeff Spicoli once said: "You D**k"!

Hey, Phil....appreciate the dialogue.

...how come a group of policemen could not restrain this man without having to resort to excessive measures like those? They just had to seize and expel him from the hall.

Because the @$$hole was thrashing about and not complying with the officers directions.   The officers clearly stated to him that if he did not calm down and put his hands behind his back, they would be forced to use the taser.

And like the sh** for brains that he was....he simply continued to thrash and kick and scream.   Officers are not trained nor are they obligated to "lighten up" just because a bratty subject is kicking and screaming.....quite the opposite, actually.

If that moron would have simply complied with the officers, they would have more than likely simply escorted him out peacefully.   But he IMMEDIATELY started thrashing around which was HIS stupid choice.....not the officers.

The polygraph is part of the law enforcement application process where the candidate is hooked up to a "lie detector" and then asked a battery of questions.   If the "polygrapher" concludes that a candidate is attempting to hide or cover up something....the candidate can be disqualified from the application process.

They mix in obvious yes/no questions with the serious questions:  Are the lights on in this room right now?  Have you ever sold illegal drugs?   That sort of thing.

The cops are certainly not always right. And I've disagreed with more than one LEO, civilian and military.  But there's a line you cross between disagreeing and resisting arrest.  When it comes down to resisting arrest, getting tasered is what you should expect. It's nicer than getting clubbed over the head, they say.

Face it.  Any fool who thinks he can ignore the orders of 4 LEOs, and just go about his merry way creating chaos, is delusional, and possibly dangerous.  And the guy who thinks he can win a FIGHT against 4 campus cops is just plain NUTZ.

Inappropriate behaviour is one thing.  Resisting arrest is quite another.

Not to argue with your point Paul, but majority rule is a dangerous concept.  I think I know what you meant to say, and I agree with you.  But I just had to clarify that one specific point.  If we relied solely on majority rule, a lot of people would have massively miserable lives.  Most laws are meant to protect society, AKA the majority, but some of our most important ones are meant to protect the individual.

This reminds me off Jackass 2 when Weeman was sitting on a chair and they were electrocuting his nuts.  Not sure why it made me think of that, I guess because it's Friday and I just want to go get a beer.

BINGO!!!....DING....DING...DING....WE HAVE A WINNER, JOHNNY!!!

Thank you, Jay.....my point EXACTLY....'cept you say it a lot nicer.

Yeah...that's why I said, "...whether you deserve it or not...it's time to comply and sort out the details later.   Yer kickin' and flaylin' and screamin' ain't gonna change things..."

You're exactly right....disagreeing is one thing...and we have the right to that....but resisting arrest is quite another thing, we don't have a legal right to do that.....and if yer ass gets lit up by 50,000 volts....you brought it on yerself.

I haven't followed the story in detail so I don't want to comment on the actual story itself bro.  But I do agree with you on the point that if an officer places you under arrest and tells you to put your hands up, down, in your mouth, etc...JUST DO IT!!!  If not for the sake of keeping you out of more trouble then at least do it so that no bodily harm comes to you.  I'm not saying all cops are bad and abuse their power.  But let's face it.  Say one has a bad day.  Him and his wife fought before his shift, maybe cheated on him, or even left him.  He tells you to do something and you don't.  That's resisting arrest.  Here comes the night stick, taser, whatever to relieve a little of that "frustration."  Again, I'm not picking at cops and saying they are all bad guys.  I have the utmost respect for law enforcement for what they have to go through on a daily basis while they are getting paid peanuts.  But there are some cases like I spoke of out there so why take the chance just to prove a point and show how big your pride is.  Prove your point later when it's safe.

OK....here's another case where some "hubbub" could have arisen.  There wasn't idiot public outcry over this one....but it does illustrate why people sometimes get TASED.

Some of you may have heard of the woman arrested at Phoenix Airport, who died in a holding cell after apparently trying to get out of her handcuffs.

Well here's another instance where officers would have been justified using extra "force."  In this case they did not....beyond having to pin her to the floor rather forcefully.  The enlarged print points out the exact stuff that moron on the university campus was doing.

'Airport witnesses told police Friday that Gotbaum was "very loud, she was yelling and screaming and running around the concourse area," said Hill. Police "could not calm her down" and "it was very difficult for them to get her handcuffed....she became extremely irate, apparently running up and down the gate area," airline spokesman Derek Hanna told the Daily News.....A police officer put his knee in Gotbaum's back to restrain her while other arresting police grabbed her flailing arms....She kept punching. She kept screaming. She kept kicking'

She should have been tased.  She could have easily harmed others.

I feel bad for the cops in having to second-guess everything they do.

....cops...having to second-guess everything they do.

Exactly !

It's tough enough to have to make those necessary split-second decisions, man.

A cop buddy of mine once wisely said, "Everything after the arrest, the booking, the jailing, the trial, the judge, the jury, the media, the court system.....they all have plenty of time to weigh their decisions with regard to the perpetrator.  On the street, we don't have the luxury of time to sit and carefully weigh all of the options.  We're the ones that have to make split-second decisions in sometimes very volitile and dangerous situations."
