Title: I am sly again!
Post by: Semi-Sly on December 25, 2025, 08:39:27 PM
I decided it was time to ditch the horseshoe Flattop and go for a change. I?m itching to shave my head again for six months.!

In between I had my barber mow the Flattop down to a high and tight marine style crew cut and then down to the southside fade and then went fully bald. What are you guys think? Should I have kept the hair or shall I keep the chrome dome/

As always, I love the way it feels and I love it feel to be clean, but I don?t like to look as much as the Flattop

But thr flattop is getting to be a real expensive proposition to take care of and when I go back to Florida next week there will be anybody there and take care of it properly anyway

I think I?ll feel better about the shaven head once I get back to Florida get a little more tan on the noggin!

They all look good, and I am glad you can still go between both styles.  I would have to say the flat top is my favorite, likely because I always wanted to have a flattop, but my hair texture never cooperated.  I do like the full beard on you though.

I'm struggling again with my decision to shave. This last fall, everyone in my car group liked my flattop, but I gave in to the urge to shave it in early November. Right now I have about 12 days growth. Every morning when I get in the shower, I fight the urge to shave! Now I see @Semi-Sly with that beautiful bald head and I want that too.

I have known you online for quite some time and I know that you are most comfortable with the clean shaven head and with your nice white whiskers, I think it looks great on you. Just go for it and keep it smooth.

@Semi-Sly Looking good! I on the other hand have been thinking about letting my hair grow out, but I committed to a year, so I've talked myself out of it. I will be a 6 month "Sly Bald Guy" on January 10th, the longest period of time that I've kept the dome shaved. Happy New Year!!!

I think that you might find that growing it out will drive you crazy.  It always drives me crazy - which is why I hesitate so long to return to the shaven dome.  But truth be told, I "feel" the best with the smooth shaven head!  I may just keep it this way forever now.

@Kromedome , I've grown my hair out many times. It's definitely a pain in the ass! It takes about 8 weeks until you can get it cut in some kind of style. You really have to fight the urge to shave it. I've never went more than 3 months before giving in to the urges, and when I end up shaving, wow! It feels so good and I always think it looks awesome. Some guys get tired of the daily shaving routine, but I actually love daily shaving and the feel of a smooth head. Also, my hair is snow white, so I think I look much older with hair.

@Semi-Sly , thank you. I read your comment and thought about it, and realized you were absolutely right. I'm back to a smooth bald head!

I might be biased but I like the chrome dome on you @Semi-Sly. Although the flattop looks great as well!

Summer is definitely a great time to wear a shaved head! No matter how often I grow some hair back, I will always shave it off in the spring. I love those warm summer mornings, and sometimes I take all my equipment out to the patio table and shave my head outside. I used to wonder what my neighbors think, but I guess I don't really care!
