Title: The Rabbit Hole
Post by: sellitman on November 13, 2024, 05:34:09 PM
Since embarking on my traditional wet shaving journey, I've tried over 28 different soaps and splashes, 12 razors, and 9 brushes. My collection also includes 4 shaving bowls, with more on the way. It all started with my goal of saving money by ditching cartridge razors, but now I find myself with a cool yet costly hobby.

Has anyone else fallen down this rabbit hole?

I have tried a few things, but mostly I just stick with a multiple blade razor like a Mach III

Yes, it happens to many of us! When I first started shaving, I tried alot of different soaps and razors, etc. I was fun to experiment with different products. After a few years, I settled into my daily routine, but I still change it up periodically. As long as you can afford it, go for it! After 12 years of headshaving, I recently purchased a straight razor. Still experimenting with it, but it's great for edging around my beard.

My daily shave is in the shower with plain old Dial soap and a Shick Extreme 3 disposable razor. I still like using my double edge safety razor once in a while though.

I still use the mach III as well, and soap, in the shower, takes 5 mins.

There are many more expensive hobbies you could get into, so this is not so bad.

Not really. I've pretty much stuck to razors and shaving gel.
