Hello everybody. I think it's time for me to continue to the next level. I am thinking either tweezing or waxing since laser it would be ineffective due to the amount of white hair i have. Please feel free to paste any info you have available. And I have a question to anyone who had performed this on the past, have you ever tried to use an anesthetic cream to reduce pain?
Thank you
P.S.: I am sorry for my English, I am from Greece, and English is my second language.

I cannot offer any information, but we have a few guys that have posted here that have done it. If you do, please keep us updates with how it goes. I am sure a lot of guys have some of the same questions and would love to be able to track your experiences.

Hello friend, I spent a quite long time to decide for tweezing and waxing technique, because the information about this hair removal technique is unusual, I have to think about the procedure I would apply, I checked some sites about sugaring, and readed about Traction Alopecia to comprobate if tweezing and waxing are effective, and is true, If you dedicate time for maintenance a permanent baldness will be achieved.
Personally I tryed mostly natural ingredients, I used directly hand moved tweezers to diminish the hair density I spent 5 days, them I done the "sugar waxing" and finally the extreme thin hairs I shaved.
Was so painful in the beginning, I don´t use any anestesic product, just breathing deeply and taking courage to pluck out, three weeks later I done a second waxing session and no pain of all!!! Actually the waxing maintenance spend only one hour per month and no pain of all, and ocasionally I tweeze the strubles. In eight months to apply this technique, I assume a 40% of my hair was gone forever, every new session is easier than the last before, the remaining hair is growing thinner and sparse, I´m sure monthe later I´ll spend too short time for a long term maintenance.
I wish you success, let tweeze and wax your hair, worth the effort, ad you´ll chieve the permanent baldness, the same or better than laser.

Have read that you went for laser hai removal... anyway this is my scalp after many years of tweezing.
I guess that now more than 95% of my scalp hair is permanently gone, and only white thin hair grows back.
Now I make only maintenance tweezing once or twice a month.

Thank you very much.
I have recently discovered tweezing, using a simple and cheap epilator.
The results are pretty encouraging.
I have to admit, that most of the work have been done by laser hair removal I had.
I will try to post, my results tomorrow.

Guess that now that you?ve removed most of hair with the laser the epilator is perfect for the maintenance.
And also to kill the last few hair that still grows back.
Look forward to see your results.

First post of a looooooong-time reader only 🙃. It?s only recently that I started to be less paranoid about leaving traces on the internet...
@zetaeffe Just wanted to thank you for posting on here about your experiences with scalp tweezing over the years. You were a big inspiration to me, contributing to me eventually going down that route myself - I have epilated my scalp for slightly more than two years now.

Laser never really seemed an option due to my natural hair color.
Anyway, feel free to send me a message to exchange a little further on this if you?d like to (I?d love to!).

I'm been tempted to try out using tweezers because I used to do it for my facial hair, but it seems so long and painful to do it.
Doing professional waxing seemed like a better alternative, but from what I have been reading it seems so painful and expensive if done monthly.
Part of the reason I went with the bald look was avoiding having to go to the barber every month so I could save money. Waxing monthly seems like would defeat the purpose to me.
I might still try it at least one. I'm curious on what I would look without that dark shadow I get after not shaving for a day.
-
I tried waxing my head, just one time it was difficult even to find a technician who would do it, I was ready for the pain because I?m regularly have my back and shoulders and other parts of my body waxed so I knew what it would feel like.
The results were good, but it wasn?t a good option for me because he said I would have to let it grow back to at least a quarter of an inch before he could wax it again so that would mean that I don?t really look good for a week or so and then I?d have to go through a month of letting my hair grow before I could get it waxed again and it would look awful for that whole month so I didn?t see the point.
I did try an epilator once, but it was extremely painful. It didn?t seem to get all of the hairs.
But I must say that you guys who posted here recently look fantastic!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to buy me a facial hair wax kit this week and try it out Sunday. I'm curious to test it to see if I can get rid off the shadow and not shave as often. I know it's not a permanent solution.

Update: I bought me a waxing kit and I tested a small portion of it. I have to admit that I don't think I want to really do the entire head anymore. It was a bit painful to remove the wax and the results were not that good. It was messy anyway.
For now I shall continue just shaving. I might, however, consider lasering my facial hair, except the moustache area. I can easily use tweezers or waxing for that area without being painful.
As for the head, I still don't want to do it unless I really become bald by nature.

I tried it because I wanted to try the no-shadow look before doing laser. I went to a professional waxer. It was so extremely, unbelievably painful I was sure I would never do it again on full, thick hair. I had to grow the hair for a month and even then a good number of hairs broke off instead of getting pulled. All the hair grew back after a couple of weeks. So I wouldn?t recommend it. I might try it for the fuzz left over after laser because it?s so thin

I agree. It was counterproductive because i had to wait and let it grow out to 1/4 inch before they could wax it again - so it looked like heck for almost three weeks between waxing! I looked good for about five days after waxing but then looked bad for the next three weeks. MUCH better to laser or go MPB to avoid the horseshoe look. BECAUSE MY HAIR IS GRAU LASER WAS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME - SO I WENT WITh SMP and IU am very happy with it!

I guess it's really not worth the money, effort, and pain. I will just shave for now, even it's a chore. Beats styling my hair every day and going to the barber every month.
-
I would advise against lasering the facial hair for a couple of reasons. Quite opposite of head hair, facial hair tends to improve with age. That means new hair may "sprout" after the laser treatment, requiring you to shave anyway of get more treatments. The second, and most important reason IMO, is that you will retain the option of growing a beard or some facial hair option other than the mustache.

This is the result after five years waxing. The hair is growing very sparse, a 70% of the hair follicles are destroyed because mechanical damage. In the process I improved the waxing method and I'm achieving the permanent baldness in a faster way. I added new ingredients who are helpfull to make my goal, be a true bald man.
-
It looks great. How often do you wax it, and do you need to do any shaving or trimming in between waxing sessions? Are you able to wax it yourself, or do you need assistance or professional help to do it?

Well, give it at least one. Try and see how you like it. but do not try to do it by yourself have a professional do it for you

Thanks!!! I wax once per month, I shave only once per week just to trim the thin troubles, the rasor takes almost nothing. Is impossible to find someone who make a scalp epilation in my city, the laser or waxing services offer only to other parts of the body, not for scalp.
Because my balding procedure is a very personal issue and I like to do with privacy, I do all by myself without help, in the beginning I needed practice since making the wax until hair removal work. For the back of my head I use two mirrors, one located in my front and other in my back in that way I see what I'm doing. Is necessary to be courageous with pain sometimes, but the result are very pleasant, and each waxing session is less painfull and less hairy than the others.
I am botanist and know about some natural treatments, I like to be responsible with my body and I spent a quite long time investigating about my procedure, I done when I was sure the waxing don't cause any serious damage.
I am happy with my natural waxing method, and the bald achievements because traction alopecia.

I wish I had your patience and courage, but I just can't go through with waxing. I bought me a waxing kit last October and tried to do it on my own. Not only was it messy, but also painful and not very good. Most wax professionals here in the U.S. refuse to do it. I would love to have a smooth bald look and feel for longer.

After deciding I wanted to stay bald forever, I did six sessions of laser hair removal a couple of years ago. I quit because it wouldn?t remove the grey hair. If I let my remaining hair grow for a few days, all that?s left is white. No one in my town offers electrolysis. I found an electrologist in a town 100 miles away who said she?d be glad to help me. I?m tempted to set up an appointment to get rid of my hair once and for all.

@chuck63 Thanks for sharing your story and I have read a few of your posts. When did you feel that you were ready to be a permanent bald guy (i.e. to go for scalp laser hair removal)? It is certainly a big decision to go for it.
Did others notice the difference (i.e. the no shadow look)?
If you go for electrolysis, that would be an interesting experience. I have heard of guys going for tweezing after laser hair removal to become completely bald.
I have decided to keep my head shaved bald and hope to be bald for life. That said, I am not at the stage to go for scalp laser hair removal. I am just interested in other people's experience.

I had stayed shaven for three years before going the laser route. I was left with some patchy dark areas after the first 3-4 treatments. It?s been a couple of years and I?m still pretty much shadow free. I have quite a bit of white hair left. It?s easier to shave now, but it would be nice to not have to shave every day.

Will I recommend that guys get their cheek line and their neck line lasered while their beard still has full color that way they always look well groomed and never have to put up with the hassle of daily shaving
