Title: Need advice
Post by: lutango on February 13, 2019, 06:54:25 AM
Hello all fairly new here but been shaving my head for quite sometime now, almost close to a year. I have this issue with my head that I can not figure out what is going on. I have seen two dermatologists and they haven't really helped but told me that I have eczema which is on my back. Has anyone seen this type of discoloration on their scalp before? I want to say it is hyper pigmentation as it doesn't itch. When I first started shaving I noticed my head was very very dry and I remembering it would itch back when I had a full head of hair. Anyways I have a picture I will attach, Hopefully someone knows what this problem could be.

Never seen it before, looks like you take a lot of sun and now there's some hyperpigmentation.

I'm obviously not a doctor, but it looks like it could be due to the sun. When a guy is thinning his head will get sun exposure. Given that your head is not doing this in the fringe area where you still have hair, I have to believe it's due to the sun.

I see that you're in the USA. Find a woman that sells Rodan & Fields as they have a product that can reduce the hyperpigmentation.

Well most of my hair is still there. My hairline was thinning up front but once I started shaving that is when I noticed all those spots. Most of which are on the top back of my head.

Are you of African-American ancestry?  I ask because I have seen that type of pigmentation on one or two of my customers who are.
