that the way i shave my head tony.i dont have any hair on top and my hairline in receding down the back of my head.my sides and back are thin do to cancer due to cancer in 2005.so when i shave with a electric shaver it looks like i am bald.its also quick and easy with the same effects.

I have used something similar called skull shaver, however does not give a close smooth shave .. still leaves stubble, does yours do? what do you use?

Is the Phillips Aquatouch
Gives a very smooth result, doesn't last as long like a razor shave, but does the work pretty well, the good thing is that you can use it twice a day or more without any irritation.

I am a part time barber.  Both Andis and Wahl make a small, inexpensive box shaver that are lithium powered and get really, really close.  Most of the barbers I know don't like to use a straight razor against the grain on a client so they use this instead.

Wahl 5 Star (Black) lithium
Andis Pro-floil lithium

Are water proof?

I'm open to try new methods and machines, this was a gift from my bf.

I have an Andis @Tony Dadá that I use when I travel or skip a razor shave.  It is a near razor blade smooth as I have experienced from an electric.  I do not think it is waterproof, but it may be.  I do not use it in the shower.

Electric shavers are useful for quick retouches, love that.

Andis seems like a very popular brand.

I recently purchased the PitBull gold from Shull Shaver . Usd now three or four times. It works pretty fast , faster than a cartridge. No way is it as close a shave . But for a quick shave while watching TV , it does what I was wanting. For the winter getting a wet shave on the head for me is a bit uncomfortable. How durable this is , time will tell.

No argument here.  Good for a quick easy shave or touch up.

Maybe in 10 years someone develop a machine that actually "shaves" ..but as you say "It does what is was waiting" :)

My hair grows so flat to my head that I usually use an electric shaver on the sides and back. The top grows straight up so it shaves real easy. Then I jump in the shower and shave with a razor for a perfectly smooth head. I usually use the shaver  while watching the morning news.
