It's just the style of humor i think, I much prefer the british comedies especially the old ones. Like Faulty Towers and Dads Army and Open All Hours.

I don't dislike American TV in general ( Australia sources most of its show from the US).

I guess an example would be American Pie and ones like Hot Shots and Austin Powers.

It's the parody movies that dislike the most and an example would be the Scary Movie series.

I think its because I find them a bit mindless and predictable.

I do like the Simpson as I can relate to Homer ;D

My comment was a bit of a generalisation

There's been some really great American comedies .... I liked Frasier (of course) & Ali McBeal & Sex In The City was cool. Also loved Six Feet Under though I guess that's not really a comedy per se (Though I do agree with you Glenr re Scary Movie etc though the original was okay)

I do love British comedy though, Dad's Army & Fawlty Towers are of course, classics, , also liked Red Dwarf, but also there's been some great more recent stuff like Drop The Dead Donkey (admittedly quite old now), Peep Show & Nightingales.

Re MySpace .... In case anyone's interested, I think my MySpace address is shown at the bottom of my posts though it's actually my music myspace page.

Being an American who has lived in Australia for almost 7 years, I can say that there a lot of generalisations both ways.

Aussies think Americans are all loud mouthed gun toting lunatics who dont have a grasp on the rest of the world and know only of their backyard.

Americans tend to think all Aussies ride kangaroos to school and everyone lives in a tin shack in the outback.

Both countries are as ignorant of each other. We all have the media/newspapers/TV and Movies to blame for this.

Its just another way for someone who has nothign to do but sit around and write stupid scripts for movies and make money. Give me all the action packed thrill seeking movies you want and I would be happy.

Hey thanks for all who keep up the heartfelt comms(through any means, not just MySpace)...few of you got to see my transition to happiness through that site...most of you can't recognize me smiling all the time now...the scowl is gone! :)
