Title: World Trade Center
Post by: Tyler on August 14, 2006, 02:34:49 AM
This movie has nothing to do with being bald, but everyone that reads this should go see it.  I know a lot of people may not want to go see this movie because they think it will just trump up feelings they had on Sept. 11th.  It is true, you will most likely have some of the same feelings you did that day, but this movie will also help you see something else that you experienced shortly after.  That something is humanity.

This movie is truly a feel good movie.  It will help to remind you of all the great things that people did for each other right after 9/11.  It will remind you that humanity still exists in a country that has news stories everyday of people killing each other over road rage or some other stupid thing like that.  I hope you feel the same about this movie.

I can understand your point, but having been a New Yorker for many years, four of which were 5 blocks from the World Tade Center, I found it impossible to even watch the trailer.

I can understand that it could bring back some painful memories, especially for New Yorkers.  My grandfather was in WWII and has a hard time watching any movies like Saving Private Ryan.

Thanks for the post tsshaver1 and welcome to Sly Bald Guys!

Thanks for the welcome again Tyler and now Yeti as well. I know I got off a bit on the wrong foot, but hope to make up for it. My loft in Tribeca in NYC was  as I said 5 blocks from ground zero. I wasn't there that day, I was in Detroit but the memory is very painful. I saw the movie trailer and I burst into tears

I saw the movie trailer and I burst into tears

I hear ya man.

I will never wish that type of act on American soil again.  But some of the greatest camaraderie and love towards others that I have ever seen in my life has been in response to that event.
