Title: what r your plans 4 labor day weekend?

Post by: schro on August 26, 2007, 10:54:04 AM: Probably laying low....my daughter has practice for a Broadway stage production on Saturday morning 9/1 and Labor Day morning. So, leaving town really is not an option. We may zip up to Tahoe for an overnight from Saturday afternoon thru Sunday night.

Only in Louisiana do they cook their shrimp in 30W ;D) with one of our sly brothers. Gonna be one awwwwwwwwwsome time O0

Serious Paul? They cook the shrimp in Petrol? I know the Cajuns had an interesting culinary repoitoire but this is news.

I'm going to have a crawfish boil with a few friends. We will be subsitituting the crawfish for yabbies which is the Australian version. Not near as nice but they will do.

hey kc.... i live in pensacola. however, i'll b working, it would have been kool 2 hook up & grab some drinks on pensacola beach. hope u enjoy beautiful pensacola. let me know how u like the gulf coast. O0

Myself...too much

My wife got tickets for us to go with some friends to the Cleveland Air Show Saturday. Got these tickets before my mother went into the nursing home. My sister arraigned a birthday party for her in the home Saturday (Friday is her birthday). I guess I will try to swing by and visit my mother after the show. It will be a lot of driving that day. Monday we will be at the Canfield (Mahoning County) Fair; the largest county fair in Ohio.

Post by: Timmay on August 26, 2007, 11:34:03 PM: I havent really gave it much thought what we are going to do on Labor Day. Prolly nothing ...just sit back relax enjoy the day off. May head up to SpringMill...if it is really hot that day..because they have this river that flows ot of the ground and the water temp year round is about 60 degrees. Feels really good on a hot day. And the water is fresh spring water..so if you are near the mouth of it ...makes for good drinking water. There are also alot of caves you can explore and there is an old settlement that is orignal and they have been working in them as if they actually live there. They also have a grist mill which they grind corn and it makes really good cornbread....so other than that....grab a beer..sit next to the pool and relax.

LOL I love my mother-in-law to death but yeah sometimes it can be a real bore going there. Especially sometimes when her boyfriend goes on about crap that happened to him in the 60's. Its like watching a really bad old movie with nothing interesting happening.

Don't get me wrong, I love mine to death too. It's just sometimes it's like you want a break from people, you know? I mean she will call here everyday sometimes twice a day just to say, "Whacha up to?" I mean we talk and see her so much we never really have anything to talk about because there's not enough time for anything new to happen. But she is a great person and has helped us a lot. But yeah, sometimes I still would rather chew broken glass. ;D ;D ;D

I know we have some St. Louis Sly Bros on the site. So if you have any suggestions of stuff to do this weekend, please let me know.

Been enjoying the Louisiana hospitality of Paulie and family and having an awesome time. Great music, fantastic cajun food, gracious people, good looking women and massive consumption of beverages. And that was only the FIRST day!!!!!!!!!!!
