When I shave my head I get a red mark which I assume is some sort of rash as it goes away. Is this a shaving rash or something else?
Can I stop it occurring?
I've attached a pic

I am surprised you still are getting a rash like that. Mine stopped after a few weeks of shaving.
Did you recently change something in your routine?

I get it most times I shave my head, I do suffer a bit with dry skin, so did wonder if it was that.
I do tend to vary how long in between shaving my head though, depending on time/inclination etc.

Any suggestions as to what could be causing this?

Well, does it hurt or itch? If so, get to a dermatologist. If not, perhaps it is just that you have a sensitive patch of skin - like an Angel Kiss.
Most people have an Angel Kiss on the back of their scalp. Whenever I give a guy a really tight fade or shave the scalp the Angel Kiss sometimes glows a bit for at least few minutes from the irritation.

It doesn't hurt, but does disappear. I think it is a shaving mark due to the way my hair grows in that area.

An update to this post. Previously I was shaving maybe once or twice a week, sometimes could have been maybe 4 days.
I'm now aiming for every other day and it seems to be working well and I am not getting any red patches either :)

Good to hear, Mike.

I think it is a sensitive patch of skin, as I still get this when I shave and when I don't.
