I started shaving a few weeks ago. I haven't been able to keep up
with it as I would have liked. Anyways since my hair has grown back in a bit I figured I would try and get some opinions on whether shaving is the best option. Thank you in advance.

I think the shaved look is better. That said, there is nothing in the rules that say you have to shave every day. Some people get a better shave when they wait a few days.
-
you have to realize guys here are prejudiced in favoring shaving. I am one of these. You look better shaved. Once in the habit you will like keeping it smooth daily.
-
I realize that people on here are partial to shaving. I would just like some good feedback.
-
You have a perfect shaped head, looks very trendy and confident when shaved. You also look a bit younger with it shaved.
-
As Bennett stated, we here are a bit biased, but I honestly think your smile in the smooth picture says a lot regarding how YOU feel about it.
In my opinion, there is nothing at all wrong with your picture of your head with hair, but I do think you look better shaved.
-
I am of the opinion that the shaved look is better looking than the balding look.
I also find that if I go more than two days between head shaves, the shaving is more difficult. I've had to adjust a bit, but now I'm shaving daily and I'm really enjoying it.

I appreciate all the feedback. Looking for as much as I can get!
-
Also, like I have stated in previous post is that the top of my scalp has some sort of lines that for some reason bother me.
-
Ya man you look better shaved. It just looks fresher/cleaner. Makes you look younger. Test out some facial hair styles too.
-
I'm very much in the 'shaved is best/biased' category, however I have to say that I think you look equally good in both pics. You have what I think of as a perfect head shape, and you can do justice to both styles, so to me you look great either way.
I think the shaved look makes you look a little younger. For some men, that's a bonus, so if it is for you, then bear that in mind. I enjoy looking my age and have no desire to look younger, so not everyone wants to achieve the same result.
Also, keep in mind that for some men, it can be good to not shave every day. I'm almost obsessed with having my head as smooth as it can possibly be, so I shave morning and evening, but for many men, leaving it a day or two between shaves makes the shaving process easier and more successful.
But I think you look great both ways, and that's something I don't say often, because I think 95% of men look better with a totally shaved head :)

Thank you for your feedback. It just seems that I take quite a while to shave my head. Not sure if I don't have all the right things to make it smooth or if I am just not that good at it yet. I especially find it difficult to get the sides and part of the back of my head smooth. I use headblade atx and headslick. Not sure if I should add some more products to my routine or change to the sport blades like I see some people talk about.

I know lots of men will disagree, but for me, Headblade is a total waste of time, effort and money. I've tried just about all incarnations of Headblade for probably the last 5 years, and I've never once had a satisfying shave with them. It's a nice idea and a cool design, but when it comes to function, I find them substandard.
The blade that works best for me is the Gillette Fusion Proglide. As far as products go, I first exfoliate with a regular face exfoliant like St Ives (Walmart has a house brand which is almost identical). I then use a shaving oil, either Somersets (from Walgreens) or Shave Secret (Walmart). Occasionally I add a carrier oil to the shaving oil to give some extra moisture and lubrication. Sweet Almond oil is pretty good.
I don't use shaving creams because I find they make my scalp very dry. Headslick is a little better than most but for me, it's still not great.
After I shave with the Proglide blade, I exfoliate again, then rinse with cold water or ice water, depending on the time of year, then moisturize, usually with an aloe vera moisturizing cream, or just untreated aloe vera gel
Just like everything else, it's going to take some time and practice to figure out what's right for you.
From my point of view, the two most important things are preparation and a sharp blade.

I don't like the Headblade either.
-
I'm pleased I'm not the only one!
-
by the way Razor X, you have a fantastic shine on your scalp. It's looks great.
-
I have a strong preference for the HB Sport over the ATX. ATX with the 4 blade cartridge just is not as good. Better with the 3 blade Sport cartridges, even though not recommended by HB. It still works.
-
I agree with going with either style. I think your "what do I want to do today" could be a good compass for shaving.
I'm down to once a week shaving since the local marche only has the single blade disposables for the last 2 weeks (living in Dark Africa SUCKS!!!), so I am milking these 'double bladed cows' until I get powdered milk from them! Something I have discovered is the shave is better after waiting a few days between as Munkymunk stated.

I appreciate all the feedback and information. I guess I could post another picture with my hair from the front maybe that would get more feedback. I have to log into the actual website to post a picture it would be so much easier if I could get it to work through tapatalk.

I dislike it also.

You can post pictures through tapatalk, there should be an option at the bottom of the post when you go to a new post to do it. Or is it not working for you?
-
Doesn't work. Says photos are to big.

Kind of hard to tell from the pics you posted since they are from very different angles, but I add my vote to the smooth look. Looks younger, and sharper. You've got the classic domed head that looks good shaved.
I am not biased toward the smooth. I use a trimmer designed for professional fades with no guard every other day. Keeps my hair around 1mm long. I find that to be the most comfortable for me, and the quickest and easiest. Because my remaining hair is so thick it looks about the same shadow-wise if it is shaved smooth or at 1mm. I envy guys who can shave without a heavy shadow.
