OK, I must be missing something.
I have a biz trip coming up and I want to keep my sly look.
However, when I travel, I do not check luggage, so just a small backpack and carryon.
My understanding is TSA does not allow razors as carry on.
Any tips ?

Many hotel will give you a complimentary razor. It will be a cheap one, but may do for a short trip.
-
Disposable razors and cartridges are allowed, "safety blades", no.

I always take my Mach III and nail clippers with me in my carry on.
But say, your questioned caused my damaged brain to come up with a weird thought - I know that we have all heard of the "mile high" club - but has anyone ever shaved their head in an airplane while in flight? I'm just askin'!

Nail clippers are a definite no no in carry on luggage in Oz.
Re shaving on a flight given the pressure on the small number of toilets on most flights it would be unsociable to shave while ohers are waiting. However would be nice to arrive freshly shaved.

I've never had an issue with neither razors nor nail clippers in carryon luggage anywhere in the world...including domestic flights in Australia.

US security won't allow shaving cream/gel or razors. I'm afraid you're stuck with buying when you get there. :Xo!

TSA forbids DE razor blades in carry on. A razor with a disposable cartridge blade (like the Fusion) is allowed.

My HeadBlade and Sensor razor (for my face) always travel without issues.

As long as it's not a detachable blade it should be OK. And you can get a travel size shaving cream.

When I was in Toronto last year, I just went to Shoppers Drug Mart and bought the store version of Xtreme3. I am also lucky, I have shaved my head so much now, plus not a lot left on top, that I can use bar soap! I do prefer HeadSlick but I can actually use bar soap without irritation!
