Hi guys
I have posted here before and found the place very welcoming and informative.
I am back again seeking a little advice.
I went pretty much all of last year shaving my head with no guard and I was really comfortable with it. My problem is the hair I DO have is fairly thick, the "island" at the front is maybe a bit thin. What I do have is a pretty severe hairline which grows further back on one side.
I have had this hairline for as long as I remember, even in school I remember always growing a fringe and sweeping it to the side that is further back. It sounds bizzare but I'm almost wishing it would just thin out so it is easier to maintain. Obviously at my age I would much rather a full head of hair but I hate the "in between stage" I get to with my hair growing back so quickly.
What I would like to know is where on the norwood scale do I really fall? Are there any grown out styles that could work for me as apposed to shaving my head every couple of days? Do I really just think too much about it? lol
Here are some pics of where my hair grew to recently due to lack of spare time before I cut it off again today.

Welcome back, Shaun.
I never looked at (nor cared about) the Norwood scale, so I can't even begin to guess what your pattern signifies.
As for what style you should wear your hair (you did note the title of this board, right?) my feeling is you should do whatever you want. Just beware of the ridiculousness of the combover.

Welcome back Shaun !
It looks like you basically have the normal receding temples that most men experience. Your top area looks thick from the pics and not thinning, so don't worry about it. Keep it buzzed and razor shave it smooth sly when your mood strikes. Enjoy both worlds of hair and sly - you are lucky !

Cheers gents. I do much prefer having it closely shaved than a little growth. It does mean it always looks the same whether I am doing a physical activity, out in the rain, been wearing a beanie etc.
It is just frustrating at times when you see friends with fancy fade haircuts and I'm like ehh I could grow my hair a little longer but it just wouldn't produce the same result. lol
