WOW, you have a serious intimidation factor with the SLY look goin on
-
Ummm ok if you say so
-
Are you an au naturale bodybuilder or have you gotten some assistance.
-
I do take supps but its tbasics such as creatine, protein, mult vitamine, fish oil and constant exercise with good quality sleep at least 7 or more.
-
Good on you wodie,I have started recently a pretty regimated training and supplement regime to try and loose fat and bulk up
-
Well i would suggest loosing fat first than try and build muscle. Remember you body cannot do 2 things at once so pic one. Also eat healthy focus on white meats such as tuna, turcky, grilled chicken, fruits, veg., water milk, oats, sweet poatatoes, good nights rest at least 7 hr. and constant training but train for 4 weeks than take a wk off than repeat.
-
sh*t kid impressive, whay you weighing in at ?
-
Looks good. I am working on it to.
Just read a book called Younger Next Year, great motivation for the older guys.
-
That is without question a good Sly Guy Body O0
Okay, I think it only fair you post your workout method etc.... I've never been able to get mass in my bi-ceps and pecks, but the lats fill out. Currently working on my abbs, but looking to try and fill out the rest. Just started taking Body Fortress Whey Protein and getting off the Swisher Sweet cigars.
Maintain a diet of balanced portions of fish, fruit and salad with some wheat bread for fiber... and drink plenty of water thru the day with excercise on the Abb Lounge Ultra, and Bowflex.
-
Good for you man. O0 I could only wish that my body was in half that good of shape.
-
Just around down of what i do is.....
w
1. I workout 3 to 4 days a wk no more than an hour. I foucs on compound movements such as bench deadlifts, and squats. Those three are my main exercises
2 I Eat 7 meals a day focusing on white meates such as tuna, turkey, grilled chicken. I also drink alot of water which is a must. I eat veg. as well and alot of sweet potatoes which as alot of complex cards which your body uses that as enegry insted of simple carbs which your body uses that as fat wihich is a no no no you dont watnt simple carbs.
3. I get at least 7 or more hrs. of sleep.
4. Supps are NOT a must but they can help you. Stick to protein powder. creatine if you want dont have to, mult v., fish oil which as alot of omega 3 and 6 which are good fats.
Anymore questions i will be glad to answer. OH AND NO STERIODS NOT GOOD AT ALL!!!!
-
Yeah ... I do all that now except the diet part. I eat too much junk so my bodyfat isn't as low as yours. I do have two protein shakes a day (50g protein each - 1 for breakfast, and one post-workout) and hit the gym 4 times a week (free weights) for an hour. I've had great strength gains, but not close to having a low enough bf% to have a six pack or anything. I guess I'll just stay beefy and get bigger because I enjoy eating too much ;D

How many scoops or .OZ of protein powder do you use with the shake. I started with my powder protein W/8 oz water yesterday morning, and a protein bar at night. Dinner was baked Halabit with mango salsa, salad and fruit with water.
Then 10 min on the Abb Lounge before bed to burn some cals.

I have a shake every morning of the following:
-6 oz of yogurt (flavor doesn't really matter)
-1/4 cup of raw oats
-1 scoop of frozen blueberries
-2 scoops of berry protien powder from GNC = 50g protein
-1 1/4 cup orange juice
-Blended in a kitchen-aid blender until liquid
I also make the following shakes for my post weight training workout (only 4 per week):
-2 scoops ice cream (to add carbs which you need post workout)
-1 bannana
-2 scoops chocolate protien power from GNC = 50g protein
-1 1/2 to 2 cups skim milk
-Blended in a kitchen-aid blender until liquid
I can't stand to eat protien bars unfortunately :'(
-
I eat a lot of grilled chicken, steamed vegetables, drink lots of water, and have a protein shake every morning.
They key to weight loss I have found is a good diet, exercise, and cutting out the sugar, fatty foods and excesssive booze.
-
Hey Hierophant, I see you get your protein powder from GNC. Try online stores like www.dpsnutrition.com they have MUCH better prices.
Oh, and BTW........ VERY impressive work wodie
-
Damn! New bald bro joins up and makes me feel WAY puiny!
Time to RE-HIT the gym! ;)
...no, for real!
-
Wow. That is really good man. I need some tips. I had started but then let myself go. You look awesome coupled with the SLY look.
-
What are the portion sizes on the meals you eat? Is it like 1 medium breast of chicken or more? I have been doing weights but not gaining like I want to. I take supplements but not eating 7 meals. Help Appreciated. O0
-
I could never be a body builder. I'm just way too skinny to put on mass. Tried protein shakes, working out, everything. I get cut, really cut if I get serious, but no mass.
Looks good dude.
-
Pffftt my muscles are WAY bigger then yours! :*))
But seriously, dang you are a big boy!
-
Yea I used to work out.. 1.5 hr for the gym.. and 2 to 3 hrs of biking.. and I was a vegitarian at that time. I used to way arround 150 to 155 at 5 feet 9 I was slim.. in shape yes..
Now.. I'm at 195, no more biking and no gym .. but going back at the gym in november and hopefully stop smoking one more time.
my goal is to get rid of the fat and gain on muscle. i don't want to get less than 180 or get even more in mass and get it to 210 all depends on how I get rid of the fat before I start back at the gym..
-

As I posted on another thread, I'm looking to bulk up in a big way. Was thinking of a combo of muscle and fat; bult a couple of you guys discouraged me on that. So; what are some good ways to bulk up; Work out and lots of protein, i know. Anything else?

John, bulking up with fat is not something you want to do. Adding muscle is the way to go, and what you need to do is work the major muscle groups. Do deadlifts, squats and pressing exercises.
Do less reps with a higher weight (that you can handle comfortably).
Ease back on the cardio if you do a lot of it.
For your nutrition, you will need to up the protein intake a bit too. Check out wodie's post below #2.
If that doesn't work, try Schro's suggestion.

I second that.
I was boney 135 lb skater until I was about 25 and wanted to get bigger, a friend took me under his wing and get me going on a good gym workout using more weight... a few months later my arms looked more like my legs had looked and I was boney no more.

Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is a deadlift?
-
A dead lift is when i get called out in the middle of the night to go do a removal of a person who has passed away. A deadlift....lol... Heck I dunno what it really means...but that is our code word when i get a call...hey we have a deadlift...OK be right there!...
-
Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is a deadlift?
It's when you lift dead people. J/K bro!
It's when you bring a dumbbell from the floor to above your head.
-
I do deadlifts occasionally in my profession :P
For exercise, there are many variations. Here's a link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deadlift
-
a deadlift is when you bend over and lift a barbell up to your waist, just standing up straight. nothing over your head
