Yeah - I am really looking forward to 2014 being over! Hasn't been such a great year. Once again my medical co-pays are in the high five figures! But what a blessing to have had enough in savings to pay them. Goes to show you that God often gives you what you need to meet the challenges. I just have to remember to ask Him for help before I try get into the driver's seat myself!
My wish for all of you is that you and your families find health and happiness in the New Year to come!

Merry Christmas from sunny Florida. Wife and I were at the beach yesterday. 80's; warm water; nice walk.
Here is a link to a Christmas video, I think you will enjoy.

Merry Christmas, everyone. My Christmas is a bit different this year. From a failed stress test on December 4, I ended up having exploratory tests on December 12 and a double coronary bypass on December 13. I got out of the hospital yesterday. The good news is that the rest of my health is good, so the worst is over. I am at home for the next month or so, unable to drive. My hair, such as it is, is growing back; I didn't have the energy to pursue keeping my head shaved. Oh well, I'm looking forward to getting better. When I drive again, one of my first trips will be to the barber shop for complete head shave. My long-term life plans, if I have the time, include eventually lasering my scalp completely smooth. I plan to spend some of my internet time at home researching this possibility (sometime after retirement in the next two to three years). I hope that everyone has a joyous Christmas season.

My gosh, Earl, just get better. Who cares about your hair! I'm glad you got through this. Merry Christmas to you and all you Bald Guys!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas to you too.

Hope you get back to full health Earl

Hi Earl,
Sorry to hear that you had to have bi pass surgery. Hope that you fully recover soon. Bi pass surgery gave my father in law 10 more good years of quality life.
Take care and get well soon.
Happy New Year.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. My recovery is more rapid than expected; I should be to back to work a week from Monday. I hope that everybody is having a good new year. BTW, a friend of mine went to Vietnam for a one-month visit; he is coming back this coming week, I'm sure with a lot of good adventures to relate.

Best of health to you in this new year, Earl!

Thanks, everyone. Just a follow-up: I was in the hospital for ten days, got back home just before Christmas. I saw my cardiologist on December 30 and my surgeon on January 8. They both said that I was making very good progress. I am supposed to be able to go back to work this week (the doctor needs to fax the damn Family and Medical Leave Act form to my HR office; gotta nag his office some more tomorrow). I am allowed to drive again. My car's battery, which was over five years old, died in the cold weather, so I had to have my car towed to a nearby service station Saturday. They replaced the battery today, and the car is running fine.
Bald follow-up. I had let my hair grow for a month, because at first I wasn't supposed to reach my hands behind my head to shave it, then I just decided to wait until my schedule was back to normal. So, after picking up my car, I went to the nearest barbershop and got it buzzed down to the scalp. The stubble comes off tonite. I definitely have decided that totally bald is the look for me!

Glad you're getting better Earl and welcome back to baldness
-
God for you, Earl. Glad things are returning to normal and you're on the mend. Now get rid of that stubble!
