Title: Wahl Five Star or Panasonic

I have been using a 13,000 rpm Panasonic for some time now, but I keep reading about the Wahl. How does it compare to the Panny's out there as far as close shave and reliability?

WAHL 5 star is what I use.

Wahl 5 Star and Wahl Balding Clippers are the best selling clippers.  Though, these are probably different than your Panasonic Electric Razor as clippers usually won't get as close.
