Hi Everyone,
Today I finally took the plunge and buzzed my hair. I am 22 years old and first noticed my hair was balding at about 19/20. I was constantly worried that people were looking at the back of my head and it had a negative effect my confidence. I have been using Nanogen to cover the bald spot on my crown which has helped give me a cushion of a year or so to get over the hair loss.
I have been slowly but surely reducing my hair length for a while so myself and others could get used to it and I think that's really helped. I've also been very vocal about it to my friends so there was never any elephant in the room. I have received a bit of ribbing today but nothing I couldn't handle! For anyone who is undecided how they'll feel I can tell you that the relief of not having to hide anything any more is amazing! I feel like myself again and I can't believe how easy it was!
During the last few years I looked to the internet for people with similar experiences and there are some truly poisonous sources out there. I just wanted to say this forum really helped a lot and the attitude the members have here is fantastic! So thank you everyone!
Buzzing! ;D

Nice start.
Welcome. Thanks for your introductory post. We look forward to hearing more from you. A buzzed or shaved head is a good hairstyle (balding or not). Enjoy your new look. Post a photo when you can.

Welcome, Buzzy! You hit the nail on the head. The best part of buzzing or shaving is not having to hide anymore- not worrying about the big secret. It's so liberating to stop living a lie trying to conceal the balding. Enjoy your freedom!
