I have gone from trimming with the clippers, to full on shaving my head tonight :)

Shiny!
Didn't do too bad for a first timer, problem was that I had forgotten how to shave properly!

Not that much hair gone, but huge improvement. Congratulations on going fully sly!!

Nice job, Mike_!

Looks great.

Nice,
I like the contrast of the smooth head and big beard. :)
-
For a guy who claims to have forgotten how, it looks like you managed to remember really well.
Congratulations, sir.
-
Welcome to the sly brotherhood! congrats.
-
Great look, congratulations.
-
It looks great Mike! Keep it smooth.
-
I agree, the contrast between the epic beard and the slick dome is great. It gives the beard its full "props"!
-
Thanks gents, so glad I found this great forum, being a member here has really helped.
-
Looks very good on you Mike!! And we're glad to have you with us on the forum.

Looking great.

I really love the look (although I quite like the stubbly effect too, when it's quite short).
I need to shave again (don't really have time for daily shaving), I need to put more moisturiser on though, as have had terrible dryness on my head :(
-
Looks great. I think with your skin type, shaving every 3-4 days may work better and reduce dryness.
I've definitely got some beard envy.

I have to own up that since this post I have only kept my hair short for a month, mainly because I visited my parents at the start of December and they weren't that keen on it. The fact that it is winter here too and my head was very cold has played a part too.
I am debating going back to sly though.
-
Mike - do what makes you feel good. If you need the extra hair for warmth, keep it and shave in the spring - or you can always get a warm hat.
-
After a few years sly, I do not notice the cold on my scalp anymore - I cannot say when it was that it stopped, it was more of a gradual change. But I live in the deep south, so our cold weather really is not that cold.
-
I think I will trim it down to short again and maybe shave it in warmer weather.

I have always been very sensitive to the cold. If I walk out of the house without a hat, I notice immediately. I live in New England though. I think I may be getting desensitized. Recently I took off my hat while hiking and really enjoyed the cold air on my head. It was sort of a new sensation.
