Title: Thoughts on the razor less shave cream for heads
Post by: bald.metalhead on September 30, 2014, 06:23:15 PM
So I've been doing a lot of research into this, and I hear mixed good and bad reviews on it. My issue is I'm sick of shaving, all the money and maintenance has become almost too much of a burden.

I've also read about how it can leave spots, and how badly it can burn. My question is, have any of you ever tried this product? If so, what are your thoughts? Thanks.

P.s. my normal routine is a hot, soaked wash clothe on the dome, followed by shave cream, the razor, followed by a dry towel, and a soaked cold wash cloth, followed finally by a coat of lotion.

Are you speaking about Magic Shave?  What is your skin tone?

I would be worried about that crap running down and getting into your eyes!? :o, doknow what you are using to shave but could look into using a de razor to cut down on the cost, doesn't really help much though with the amount of time spent shaving if that's  what you want to avoid

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm asking about. Apparently there's a version specifically for African Americans. The product I'm trying to find answers about is specifically for the scalp, and to my knowledge, can be used by any ethnicity. I'm of Hispanic descent, but I have white skin.

I use a razor made by Wilkinson sword, that has a plastic push-button system that pushes hair out from under the top blade of the razor. They work fine, but if the magic shave works better, I'd rather use that.

You might consider a DE razor.  As most have said, it will actually take longer, but you might find that you actually enjoy it, so you won't mind the extra time.  That's what happens to most of us who cross over to traditional shaving.

I have tried magic shave on my head - they make one speciffically for head hair.  It does work, and I did not have any adverse skin reactions.  However, it is not as close as a good razor shave, leaving a slight sandpaper feel, so I stick with a razor.  IF you try it, I suggest you follow the instructions and do a test spot to see if your skin can tollerate it.
