I just received today a cheap badger brush called from tweezerman on Amazon.  The price was right.  It wasn't too soft, but got the job done.  It was around $12 including shipping and 100% badger hair.

Vulfix has a reputation for good brushes.  I have a Col Conk pure badger hair brush (almost certain it's the 1000A by progress vulfix) and really like it.  Some brushes I've used splay too much (which i personally do not like). But I find that my conk brush seems to pretty much return to form.  It's a considered medium sized brush but Vulfix has some large sizes too.  The Vulfix 660 and 2199 have large variations and probably could be found around $50.00 USD.

My current shave brush is loosing bristles each day. It was cheap from CVS or something like that.

I'd like to suggest to the family a better brush as a Christmas gift.  What do YOU recommend that I recommend for consideration?
