Title: Cordless/battery clippers available in the UK?
Post by: ben9792 on September 08, 2014, 06:08:36 PM
Hello,

I'm after some cordless clippers that will take me as close to completely bald as possible.

I'm not quite ready to go completely bald, but I'm going to buzz my hair first. Then take it from there to see what I think.

The only suitable clippers ive found have had a cord, or been unavilable in the UK.

I could probably give in and have a corded pair, I'd just prefer them cordless so I can reach the mirror in my bathroom. I guess corded are going to be more powerful and cut better, but is there a cordless that will do the job?

Not really sure what I'm willing to spend yet, I guess it would depend on what I'm getting for my money.

Any suggestions?

On the rare occasion that I don't shave with a blade and I just buzz my hair, I use a Philips Norelco 5100 series clipper. It cuts shorter than my old corded wahl clippers and has almost as much power. They are cordless, which is a necessity for me since I live in a historic building with no outlet in the bathroom, and they shave to about 2-3 days worth of stubble when used without the guard.

Cheers, thats the sort of thing I'm after!

I did find the following 2 other choices - any idea how they compare? Anyone else got experience with either?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-QC5570-13-Degree-Clipper/dp/B00BN1TW7C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410289175&sr=8-1&keywords=hair+clipper+philips (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-QC5570-13-Degree-Clipper/dp/B00BN1TW7C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410289175&sr=8-1&keywords=hair+clipper+philips)

Their both available cheaper elsewhere (if anyone decides to buy one) so shop around. Amazon is just good for comparison :)
