You guys have helped me out more than you know. I just became a member because I recently went sly, 3 days ago and it's liberating!! But before the big plunge, I spent a lot of time reading your posts.
I'm almost 40 with no hair loss. But for years I have dealt with a skin condition on my head that has been almost unbearable. The scalp condition has gotten so bad that it has went from just itchy and irritated to hurting on a daily basis. I've tried every shampoo and lotion that I could find. Nothing worked. Last year I started buzzing it short with the guard on a #1. But that just made it to where people could see the redness and scabs.
So I came up with the idea that if I shave my head, no more problems. And to my surprise it worked!
My head is so much better. I can put moisturizer right on my scalp and there has been no out breaks in 3 days. Thank all of you for the much needed info on the ins and outs of getting on the sly track.
I'm using a Gillette Fusion with regular shaving cream and after shave with moisturizer. I have the 5 pack Bee Bald products coming to me. And am reading about upgrading my blade to a safety razor. Also working on getting some color on my head by staying in the sun for 30 min a day (sunscreen on of course).
Nice to be part of the gang. And am welcome to any suggestions. :)

Welcome, Cap! Congrats on your new found freedom!

Welcome Cap, I know exactly what you are talking about. I had some kind of dermatitis on my scalp for many years. To my surprise, it disappeared after shaving my head. By shaving daily, I have zero breakouts. This week I didn't shave for 3 days in prep for my first barbershop shave, and I already had a couple blemishes starting. So many advantages to being bald!!

Another reason to add to the long list of positives for going sly. Glad we could help.

Will do WARHAWK. I'm still researching all of the DE systems and all that's around it. I'll be reading that topic a lot. Thanks

Welcome. You look great sly. Your scalp looks perfectly healed. Plus it is just amazing feel when you slide your hand over a smooth shaved head. You were meant to be shaved and you look great. Be confident in your slyness!

Thanks for all the welcomes.
Just to give an update on some of the things I've done in the week I've been sly.
I received the Bee Bald 5 piece set and it is great. The clean is great in the shower, but the scrub pre shave creme is what amazed me. It exfoliates my scalp and face, the difference it made was noticable from the first try. The sharing creme, heal lotion and smooth moisturizer are all great too. It's a great starter kit for any person that's starting out or old pro.
I also purchased the Head Blade Matte SPF 30 moisturizer. I'm guessing it works because my head hasn't burnt yet. Ha
Now I'm trying to learn all I can about DE Razors. A lot of info on this site.
Thanks again for all the Info and the friendly welcomes.

Welcome Cap,
Glad your new found slyness has helped you out, and welcome from another "sly guy in training" !!
I just received my BeeBald pack as well. Really like the wash and scrub. Haven't tried the shave or heal yet. The smooth is good at the onset, but the dome got dry much quicker than with some other commercial lotions I've been using. But I'm not sure I used enough product to give offer a fair judgment just yet. I really like the Nivea after shave balm for sensitive skin. That stuff really feels good after a shave and seems to hydrate really well. Keep my posted on your experience with the matte product. Considering something for some finish as the wife likes the shine...........and I'm ALL ABOUT keeping her smiling 8)

Belated congrats buddy.
The bald head and beard look is timeless, you wear it like a champ.
-
Scotty I haven't tried the Nivea. I use the BeeBald Smooth right after I shave. Then later use Dove's Hydrate face lotion for men with SPF 15. It keeps the dome happy.
Thanks Wil1987 and the rest of you.
